The Friends of the Sherlock Holmes Collection will hold their annual meeting on Friday afternoon, August 6, 2010 at the Elmer L. Andersen Library. Two exhibits highlighting the holdings of the Collections and the Mackler room will be on display in conjunction with the conference “The Spirits of Sherlock Holmes.” We hope that all conference attendees will join us at this meeting. “The Spirits of Sherlock Holmes” will explore the many meanings of the word “spirits” and how they relate to Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle, and the Victorian Era. The conference will be held at the Elmer L. Andersen Library at the University of Minnesota, the site of the 2004 and 2007 Conferences. Confirmed Speakers include: Ray Betzner Susan E. The Saturday evening banquet will be held at The Holiday Inn Metrodome.

The Spirits of Sherlock Holmes
Our conference will begin on Friday afternoon, August 6, 2010. A Friends of the Sherlock Holmes Collections Meeting will be held late Friday afternoon and Friday evening will be open for your personal dining choice. Presentations will resume on Saturday morning, August 7th and a luncheon and banquet will be held that day. The conference will conclude mid-day on Sunday, August 8th. Registration Fee includes all presentations, a copy of a special publication, and conference keepsakes. The Saturday luncheon and banquet are priced separately.

Transportation
Transportation (Super Shuttle) is available from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport to the Holiday Inn Metrodome and may be arranged online (www.supershuttle.com) or at the airport for $32 round trip or $16 one way. Taxi service is also available. Light rail service is available to the Metrodome or Cedar/Riverside stops. A Hotel van can pick up light rail riders at the Metrodome station. Otherwise, it is about a five minute walk to the hotel from either station.
