A View from the Shepherd

This week we continue in Jesus’ home town and after he reads
the scriptures and tells them that the scripture passage is being
fulfilled in their midst, he goes on to challenge his listeners. He
informs them that even FOREIGNERS are part of God’s plan of
salvation!! This is an outrage to their narrow minded way of life,
and so they want to throw him out of the temple and off a cliff!
AHA!!!! Jesus already is causing a commotion – he wants to
broaden their simple way of thinking and open it more to a worldly
idea. “Think Globally – NOT just locally!” Do OUR minds operate
that way? Does Jesus challenge us to think outside our
complacency and familiarity? We can’t pick and choose what we
want to accept in Christ. We have to do it ALL! Open our
challenged or wounded hearts, ask Jesus that we may have his
spirit of openness and welcoming. Lets us have the true love that
St Paul speaks about. Let the power of Christ’s love prevail! His
love has NO EXCLUSIONS! Praise God for this which is one of
the mission goals of the American National Catholic Church and
our beloved, Good Shepherd Parish!

Live Jesus in Our Hearts, Forever!
