VEST & GENESIS COMPANIES, INC., Tampa, FL

March 1989 to Jan 2001

(Successfully merged Vest,Inc. & Genesis Therapeutic Technologies. The combined companies specialized in the
Sales and Marketing of Diagnostic Testing Equipment, medical devices, X-ray, physical therapy/rehabilitation
equipment, nutraceuticals, and healthcare supplies. Our products and services were marketed to hospitals,
physical therapy/rehabilitation clinics, chiropractors, medical/ orthopedic doctors, and other healthcare
professionals. My vision for this company was to provide a one stop source of products and services to healthcare
professionals that were also looking for a team of consultants and trusted advisors.)
Founder/President/Sales Manager: Marketed medical devices, healthcare supplies, and nutritional supplements via direct
sales throughout the state of Florida. Produced annual budgets, gathering, dissemination, and tracking of competitive market
information. Conducted financial analysis/considerations and equipment appraisals including finance/lease options. Developed
marketing, advertising, and promotional strategies for new and used equipment.
Sales: During my first 5 years in the healthcare industry it was a great benefit being both a hunter and a famer.
These traits gave me the success, confidence, and experience in the Florida marketplace necessary to create my own
company. Plus, I had already established a great reputation in the industry. I was then able to determine valuable
sales information on demographics, what products were in demand, and which manufacturers I would target to
acquire exclusive distribution rights. Over my tenure, I was able to grow the territory with annual company sales
exceeding $1 million. *Awarded Salesman of the Year from Excel Tech LTD in 1990.
Management: Directed hiring/reviewing, praising, training, supervision and any necessary dismissals of sales and
office personnel (10 employees - 4 salespeople, 6 office/delivery personnel)
Training: Developed training programs for sales reps and office personnel that was required as well as
training/education on a as needed basis. This training led to knowledge that was invaluable as it led to increased
sales. Additionally, each member of my sales team and myself were required by our nutraceutical manufacturers to
complete 75-100 hours of classroom nutritional education each year. Also, our medical device manufacturers had
ongoing training and updates, which gave me the ability to provide in-service training to all of my customers so their
staffs were able to give their patients to the best care possible.
Coordinated: 3-4 Industry related trade shows annually to support client associations, exhibit our
products/services, thereby motivating the members purchasing habits and loyalty. I also coordinated and scheduled
2-3 Industry experts each year to provide training and education on specific topics relevant at that time.
Purchasing/Vendor Mgmt: Worked with many vendors to negotiate economical order quantities as well as
advantageous delivery schedules; able to obtain preferred customer status from several vendor sources. Managed
inventory levels (> $1 Million annually), and also worked with certain manufacturers to develop customized/private
labeled products.
