PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT PLAN FOR SOUTHSIDE PRESENCE


All Public Engagement and Board of Regents meetings are open to the public and promoted to English and Spanish-language media.

USER AND CLIENT INTERACTIONS


Del Mar College Campus advisory groups12 or more meetings of executive team, faculty, staff and students provide
input.
Del Mar College Executive team reviews plans 5 or more times at various stages in process.
Del Mar College Board of Regents meets 4 or more times to review and approve planning progress.
COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC
WKMC and College staff conduct interviews with City Planning staff, Metropolitan Planning Organization and others.
Community stakeholders, opinion leaders, neighborhood representatives, meet 3 or more times to solicit input.
Branding of process is emerging.
Public Engagement meetings conducted a minimum of 2 times, open to the public, promoted through commercial and
social media.
ACCESS AND PUBLICITY
Web site is optimized for mobile use and feedback.
Interactive web based media for interaction and review of draft plans
Social Media notifications, crossed platforms
Draft plans will be posted on website and made available on campus. Feedback will be solicited through website forums,
meetings and various channels.
Del Mar College may elect to conduct public opinion research through a third-party.
Del Mar College may elect to develop a speakers bureau and/or a meeting in a box to communicate finished plan to the
public and specific interest groups.
Large-scale graphics will be produced for posting at information hubs such as campus libraries, student centers, etc.
College will employ commercial and social media messaging of the finished plan as appropriate.

Specific public comments will be allowed on agenda items prior to action by the Board.

General Public Comments may be moved on the agenda at the discretion of the Board
Chair and as an accommodation to those in attendance.
