RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

2012 Academic Residency: For several months during the Autumn and Winter,
I held an academic residency at Fundación Fernando Ortiz in Havana,
Cuba. While there, I conducted the ethnographic fieldwork that served as
the basis for my doctoral research.
2010-11 Research Assistantship: I served as the sound recordist for the “Vancouver
Soundscape Project”, documenting and archiving sounds from across
Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. The project revised and extended the
original soundscape research of the World Soundscape Project.

2009-13 As an active member of the Vancouver Soundwalk Collective, I created,


coordinated, and participated in public soundwalks across the Lower
Mainland. The collective is affiliated with the Vancouver New Music
Society, a publicly funded community arts organization.
