D. E. (Dave) Kepler is senior vice president, chief sustainability officer (CSO) and chief information officer
(CIO) of The Dow Chemical Company. He is also corporate director of Shared Services. In this capacity,
Kepler has global responsibility for all Shared Services functions including Customer Service, Information
Systems, Purchasing, Six Sigma, Supply Chain, WorK Process Improvement and Environment, Health and
Safety (EH&S).
As CSO, Kepler is charged with leading the company's push toward achieving its 2015 Sustainability goals
and responsible for guiding sustainable business development. In addition, Kepler chairs the Corporate
Environmental Advisory Council (CEAC), an organization formed to prOVide an outside-in perspective
related to sustainability issues at Dow. The council is comprised of leaders in government, academia and
business. He is also a member of Dow's Management Committee and chairs its Sustainability Committee.
Kepler is a member of the Board of Directors of Teradata Corporation. He also, serves on the Board of
Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and is the Great Lakes Regional Vice Chairman. In addition,
he is on the Executive Board of the Chemical IT Council and leads its Cyber Security Program. He is a
member of the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. At Dow's
headquarters in Midland, Michigan, he continues to be active in the United Way of Midland County and
currently chairs the Alexis de Toqueville Society.
Kepler received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.

Kepler Appointed Dow Senior Vice President
Andrew N. Liveris, Dow's president, chief executive officer and chairman-elect, announced today that David
E. Kepler has been appointed senior vice president of the Company. His existing roles as head of Shared
Services and chief information officer will be expanded to include the Company's Environment, Health and
Safety (EH&S) activities, responsibilities that were previously held by Larry Washington. Washington retires
from Dow at the end of March.
As part of his expanded role, Kepler will have specific responsibility for driving the Company's sustainability
and corporate security agendas. He will co-chair the Company's EH&S Management Board with Gary
Veurink, Dow's corporate vice presiderit of Manufacturing and Engineering, and will also chair the
Corporate Environmental Advisory Council.
Commenting on the appointment, Liveris said: "Dave is a hugely experienced individual, who combines a
tremendous vision with outstanding leadership skills. As we look to change the game of EH&S performance
with our 2015 sustainability goals - and to intensify our focus on corporate security across its many diverse
facets - Dave's strategic insight, his personal experience and professional expertise make him ideally suited
to this role."
Kepler, who joined Dow in 1975, will retain his global responsibility for Shared Services - which includes
Customer Service, Purchasing, Six Sigma and Supply Chain - and will continue to serve as the Company's
chief information officer a role he assumed in 1998.
Kepler received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the American
Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, In addition, he chairs the Chemical IT
Council and Cyber Security Program.

The Executive Leadership Committee manages the corporation as a whole and is responsible for defining
and implementing a strategy to maximize long-term shareholder value. It sets the Company's strategic
direction, defines priorities, establishes corporate-wide policy and manages governance and enterprise-
level decisions for TDCC.

Management Committee
The Management Committee provides a venue to inform the top executives of TDCC of important. topical,
and/or strategic issues. While the BOC and the Corporate Teams lead the day-to-day management of the
company; the Management Committee ensures that Dow's Business, Functional, and Geographical leaders
are synchronized and aligned.
