Adibah Amin, full name Khalidah Adibah binti Amin (born 19 February 1936), is a Malaysian
columnist, novelist and actress.[1][2]
Born in Johor Bahru, she was the eldest daughter of Ibu Zain, a magazine publisher, and of Tan
Sri Zainon Sulaiman who fought for Malaysia's independence under Tunku Abdul Rahman. After
attending an English school from the age of 10, she began to study at the University of Malaya in
1953. She worked as a teacher from 1958, when she was 22 years old at the Malay
girls college kuala lumpur, know is known as Kolej Tunku Kurshiah at Seremban.
becoming headmistress of Sekolah Menengah Sri Puteri in Kuala Lumpur in 1970.[1] Then, she
becomes a lecturer at Maktab Bahasa in Kuala lUmpur.
Adibah Amin is remembered by many English speakers as the author of the column in the New
Straits Times which she wrote in the 1970s and 1980s using the pen name Sri Delima. The
columns were republished in book form in 2009.[3]
Her's writing includes three novels in Malay: Bangsawan Tulen, Seroja Masih di Kolam (1968)
and Tempat Jatuh Lagi Dikenang (1983).She has also written many radio plays and short stories.

Her English novel This End of the Rainbow was published in 2006.[4]
In 1971, she joined the new straits time sdn bhd (nstp) as a reporter. In
early 90, she joined the star newspaper and her famous column were

Adibah\ memulakan kerjayanya sebagai seorang guru pada tahun 1958 ketika berumur 22 tahun
di Malay Girls' College, Kuala Lumpur, yang kemudiannya berpindah ke Seremban dan diubah
namanya kepada Kolej Tunku Kurshiah. Adibah tidak mengikutnya pindah, tetapi ditukar
mengajar di Sekolah Alam Shah, Cheras. Pada tahun 1970, beliau dilantik sebagaiGuru
Besar di Sekolah Menengah Sri Puteri, Kuala Lumpur. Beliau kemudian menjadi pensyarah di
Maktab Bahasa (sekarang Institut Bahasa), Kuala Lumpur.
Pada tahun 1971, ketika berumur 35 tahun, Adibah menyertai The New Straits Times Press Sdn
Bhd (NSTP) sebagai seorang wartawan. Beliau menggunakan kemahirannya dalam bidang
bahasa untuk menulis sebagai seorang wartawan. Salah satu hasilnya ialah ruangan "As I Was
Passing" yang diminati bukan sahaja di Malaysia, tetapi juga di beberapa negara lain.. Beliau
juga pernah bekerja sebagai Ketua Pengarang Berita Harian dan Penasihat Editor Majalah
Jelita, kedua-duanya keluaran NSTP.
Pada tahun 1984, Adibah meninggalkan syarikat NSTP untuk menjadi penulis bebas serta
mengajar bahasa Melayu. Kemudian, pada awal 1990-an, beliau menyertai akhbar The Star dan
tidak lama kemudian, menulis satu siri ruangan pembelajaran bahasa Melayu untuk bahagian
akhbar, Pendidikan Star Terbitan Ahad (Sunday Star Education). Antara ruang-ruangnya semasa
bertugas akhbar, The Star, ialah:
