DATOS DEL EXPOSITOR

III. Alain Brie is a consultant in petrophysics and well known expert in borehole acoustics. A graduated engineer from ENSMA in France,
he joined Schlumberger in 1973 to work 30 years initially as a logging engineer and then as log analyst, research scientist, log
interpretation training manager and interpretation development expert. He was twice in charge of log analyst training during which time
he taught advanced petrophysics to Schlumberger log analysts. He was also the head of the Interpretation Product Line for
Schlumberger K.K. in Japan for six years during which time he especially focused on the development of sonic interpretation methods.
He still is a regular lecturer at Schlumberger log analyst schools and professional society meetings and provides a range of training
courses to the oil industry covering E&P operations, petrophysics and geo-acoustics. He authored or co-authored 36 professional
papers, authored various interpretation manuals and Schlumberger publications and holds 6 patents on sonic measurements and
interpretation. He is a member of the SPWLA, SEG and SPE.
