CONTENT

An interview is a conversation between two or more people where questions are asked by the
interviewer to elicit facts or statements from the interviewer. Interviewers are a standard part of
qualitative research. They are also used in journalism and media reporting and in various
employment related contexts.
The qualitative research interview seek to describe and the meanings of central themes in
the life world of the subjects. The main task in interviewing, when considered as a method for
conducting qualitative research is a technique used to understand the experiences of other.
Our lecturer, Miss Syaheera has gives us a little duty and the duty is we need to interview
with such a great person. For our first sights about this job, we might think about why we need to
do this interview? This is not easy part for students like us to do this interview with that great
person.
There are some challenges that we met when we do this interview such as we might not
be accepted for any interview with them because they dont have even a little time to spend for
us and maybe they dont accept any kind of interview from little students like us. Thats make us
feels so disappointed. But, like what Miss Syaheera had said before, if you dont even try yet,
you might not know about the results will be. So, we will try our best to do this interview jobs
and present it just for our lovely lecturer, Miss Syaheera. We like to thanks her for that valuable
advice because its really helps us.
Then, we met another challenges, when we went to another places to do this duty with
someone that we had chooses. We never think that those challenges will changes to interesting
experiences for us. Actually, we have been through a lot of difficult things that happen in out of
blue when we go to do this interview.
One of the most difficult things that happen to us is when the person that we want to meet
dont have enough or any seconds time for us. As a result, we need to go back with an empty
hand. We had goes over there more than three times and that person still dont have tome with us.
So. We think that we need to changes with another person to finish this job. After we had
changed, we would never have any kind of problem again.

After thirty minutes later, we have done our interview with a great counselor that we
called as Miss Hidayah. Shes so kind and pretty. Were so glad to met her as our subject for this
interview.
Other than that, another difficult things when we met on that day is we had lost our car,
most like a taxi that we used to ride from our colleges until to the place that we go to do our
interview. Then, we need to wait over there for any taxi more than two hours. After two hours
later, the taxi had came and take we all homes. When we arrived, that time was 7.00 in the
evening. Thats too late for us and we felt so tired and little hungry.
For whole day, we have been through a lot of worse experiences that we had never
thought. Thats experiences had taught us to be more patience in our life. Were so grateful that
we had finished our duty.
Our own opinion about Miss Hidayah as a counselor is we more like to look on her
personalities that made us proud when we sees her. She is more independent and elegant. Her
personalities as a counselor is she more taught inside than her outside. As we look, she never
showed her taught at her outside but when we look more at her, we know that she is more taught
inside than her outside. Thats why she can be a great counselor to other people. She is strong
will person. She has a good attitude that made other people respect her as a professional
counselor.
She wears a simple dress that make her feel more comfortable but the simple dress that
she wore had made her look so elegant and professional. Apart from that, when she communicate
with other people, she knew how to use a words that can made other people feels better and
comfortable with her. First time that we met her, we never think that her as a counselor because
of her outside looking is so simple but look more elegant, diligent and more professional.
Were grateful to have her as our subject interview and we proud to met her. We had
learned so many things about psychologist and counseling from her. Thanks to her because she
had spend a lot of her time with us and she had been so kind with us along of our interview. To
be a professional counselor, we must be a strong will person as well as Miss Hidayah and we
need to take care our own attitude and personalities as a counselor just like Miss hidayah had
said to us.

Psychologist clinical is a professional specializing in diagnosing and treating diseases of

the brain, emotional disturbance and behavior problems. Psychologist can only use talk therapy
as a treatment. We can see a psychiatrist or other medical doctor to be treated with medication.
Psychologists may have a masters degree (MA) or doctorate (Ph.D) in psychology. They may
also have other qualifications including Board certification and additional training in a type of
therapy.
Hidayah binti Khalid who is psychologist to be, study at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri
Kiambang. She was continued her study in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tiang Chandi until
form 6 and she took Sijil Tinggi Penilaian Malaysia (STPM). Then, she success continued her
study in degree of science counseling education at Universiti Utara. She want a be counselor
because she want to help other people to know their own personality or know more about
themselves and helping other people to solving their problem.
There are many of experiences she have to face such as she need to face many kind of
person that come with diverse emotion and problems. Their problem more like family, love,
relationship, career and others. The roles of school counselor is helping the student to solve their
problem.
The main problem is more about study. Besides, help the students that have face a lot of
problems such as family, finance and so on. That is a truth of counselor role and responsibility.
The role of school counselor is very hard. She has to meet students parent to solve the student
problem and find the best ways to solve that problems.
She also or always using Rogers theory that counselors used. It also very affective ways.
The innovative ideas that always she have is motivated herself. Without motivated, every people
cant give a hand to the others. The important characteristic of the counselor is keeping the other
secret as we keep something bad about we are.
As a counselor, how she can handle crisis and stress? For students, she will call the
students to come over to her room and sharing the problem before find the ways to solve it in
harmony of situation. If the students cant sharing or feels too difficult to sharing their problem,
then counselor will used another ways such as painting, drawing and many more to show out

their feelings and problems. If the students also cant use that ways, she will used another theory
or another technique such as empty chair technique to give more inspiration to them.
How she handle a group of counseling? If she made a group of counseling, its to
maintain confidentiality and its so slight because a group will have 9 to 14 members in each of
group. So, to keep the secret of each other is so harder. If some of the clients have some of
problem, they together with their counselor will help to find the best ways to solve it and share
what kind of the ways that can be used.
For the next five years, she really want to be an expert psychologist. She also want to
help every each of people that having many kind of problems and its not limited for anyone, just
for her students only.
For her, counseling is a medium or more like a advice service that cant just help the
others and listens for what they want to says but it can show many kind of ways to solve their
problems. They will choose the better way for their own problems and counselor only can help to
give a choice for them to choose.
Other than that, the counselor job is to guide them to choose the better way to solve their
own problems. Every school has their own counseling career to help students built their own
career in their life. After being a counselor, she feel so satisfied when she tried her best to help
other people to face their own problems.
The main tips to be a counselor is the great counselor will keep away the other secrets.
Next, as a counselor, we cant be a choosy person that too choosing for who want to be our
clients such as the counselor only choose the pretty one to be their clients.
We have to accept in any kind of our client conditions such as a client with a bad mouth.
Lastly, as a best counselor, we have to be the empathy person to feel or to enter our client worlds.
Thats important to be a empathy person because with that way, we can know more about our
client problems and more about their worlds.
For the conclusion, to be a professional counselor, we need to have a good attitude and
personalities as well as Miss Hidayah that can made other people respect us as a counselor. Not
even that, we also can made Miss Hidayah as our role model that can taught us to be more liked

her. For us, thats not easy to be a counselor even a professional counselor because that job
required a better and tough person that can handle any kind of cases. So. Theres nothing in the
world that easy to do or understand it. To make something more easy, we need to work hard and
think smart than other.
