Customer Requirement
The current installation was not FIFA complaint and the
lighting levels had to be upgraded to meet the FIFA guidelines. In the old lighting scheme, low efficiency 2 kw fixtures
were employed.
Other details on the lighting installation are as follows

No of High Mast 4 Nos

Height of Mast - 50 Mtr

Flood Lights Per Mast 82

Total lights = 82 x 4 = 328 nos

Flood Light Wattage 2 KW

Maximum Vertical lux achieved on ground (center) is approx. 500 Lux, while minimum (Near Goal Line & Corners) was approx. 200 lux.

Maximum Horizontal lux achieved on ground is approx.700 Lux, while minimum was approx. 250 lux.

Proposed Solution
The customer called on GE to replace their old in-efficient fixtures with their state of the art, high efficiency EF 2000 plus fitting. The scope of the contract also called for an end to end solution involving Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of
the entire lighting installation.

Benefits
GE replaced 328 nos of the old fixture with 312 no's of EF 2000+ and was able to upgrade the lux levels to more than 2000.
Usage of the of high efficiency flood light systems & globally acclaimed Metal Halide 2 kw short arc lamp technology ensured
high electrical saving to the tune of 20 % over the corresponding conventional 2 kw lighting systems.
Other details are as follows

Eh 3500 lux ; (Emin/Emax =0.6, Emin/Eavg=0.8)

Ev - >2000 lux ; (Emin/Emax =0.6, Emin/Eavg=0.7)

Conclusions

LUX levels were upgraded to meet FIFA requirements

Minimum LUX level observed was 2500 while the average LUX level observed was around 3000.

LUX levels came down to 1600 even after switching off one mast which was within the acceptable levels.
