Good morning, Georgia! she has been greeting Rustavi 2
audience for 10 years, almost daily, wishing them a nice day;
shes been an active journalist for 22 years already and she
loves her job extremely; She was 13 when she hosted her first
TV show and since then she has been loyal to television. If
the viewers dont expect devotion from you, they wont wait
and will change the channel on the following day, Nino
told us.
You might have guessed that our guest is the host and
producer of Good morning, Georgia! TV show of Rustavi
2. I would characterize her exactly as follows: Restless,
attentive, smiling and always busy. During our conversation
she didnt leave any phone call or message unanswered,
explaining to everyone that she was busy and would get back
to them later.
A woman is obliged to restrain her wishes, emotions and
problems; our life is not a bed of roses, where we can have
everything we want we have to maintain what we already
have; plus keeping a smiley face is an absolute must!

- Nino, how long will you handle such kind of schedule?
- During this period just a few people remained at the show. The
reason they leave is that they cant take the crazy schedule anymore. In
general, those who work in morning shows are regarded as heroes, this
fact is known worldwide. We live in different time dimension. I even
remember how I went back to work directly after returning from my vacation with the suitcases. Sometimes the audience doesnt know that we
stay up many nights to make the show interesting and desirable to watch,
we sleep very little. It seems that little sleep is enough for me, I usually
compensate that later.
- It seems that viewers appreciate your work, as they are calling
you, interested how you are
- I always believed that our audience would appreciate the values we
have at Good morning, Georgia. I mean our attitude towards the books,
music and arts, in general. People call us after every show. Its a great
pleasure to hear the words of gratitude.
- And yet, what do you do to be in a good shape?
- Nothing in particular. Of course I go through some process of
preparation but you know what? There are people who visit beauty salons
willingly, my case is compulsory. I should take care of my hairstyle at least
twice a week and it should look perfect for the next morning as well. I feel
lucky as Ive got a very good stylist. I can go to bed, get up and nothing
will happen to my hairstyle. Though its hard to find time for everything. I
always have bunch of things to do in the morning. Even my make-up artist
has got used to working quickly. Finally, we get the results that people see
on TV restless, active, joyful and smiling Nino Arazashvili.
- Do you do exercises?
- There are certain periods of time when I let myself to visit a swimming pool. Swimming gives me lots of pleasure. Because of my job
I have sitting type of regime, therefore swimming is very good stress
reliever for me.
- Apart from all of this, how do you manage to be a good mom
as well?
- I never go anywhere without my children. However, my son has
grown up very much; now he prefers to be with his own friends. Im
always with kids at the weekends. The main appeal of a woman is taking
care of her children. The happiest day of my life was when I gave birth.
When I looked at my baby for the first time, I realized what the purpose
of my own birth was. I re-assessed so many things. I also realized that no
matter what I do in life, I wouldnt be able to create anything better and
more important for myself. I always wanted to have many kids. Well
see, life goes on.
- What will you tell us about love?
- A woman should be in love continuously and have the necessary motivation; it is enough to be happy. A woman always has a right to try again.
No-one should be deprived of this right. Even though Im a family-type
woman by nature, my love life wasnt successful. However, I didnt get
depressed, pulled myself together and kept on living. Im happy today. Ive
got a motivation and good job. I dont complain about my fate. Im such a
hopeless optimist. I always liked this side of my personality I really think
that future will be even better. Everything happens for a good reason.
- Is the status of a married woman a guarantee for happiness?
- Not necessarily and it cannot be a guarantee to that. Of course its
great to have a family with the one you are in love with but I dont think
it is a formula for happiness.
- It is well-known that you sing very well Have you ever thought
of performing on stage?
- I dont regret about the stage. I just feel sentimental whenever I hear
some good song. I rarely have an opportunity to be self-realized in this
direction. I always want to empty myself with singing, but unfortunately I
dont have a chance and that makes me sad. Ive been singing since childhood. My family was filled with singing, which gave me much joy.
- I have to change the topic and ask you, do you like beer?
- Ill be a liar if I say that Im a big fan of beer However, I drink
Natakhtari when Ive got a chance.
- What would you wish for Natakhtari in 2013?
- Happiness, some great effort and ability, to continue this outstanding
charity project Take Care of Future with the same kind of energy and
commitment. When someone helps people in need, especially adolescents
deprived of parental care, it is a very important thing, which needs to be

(OHSAS 18001:2007)
Efes Georgia has been successfully certified to Occupational Health and
Safety Assesment Systems(OHSAS 18001:2007). The implementation of
OHSAS standards at the enterprise ensures safe working environment and
occupational risk reduction. Efes Georgia is the first company in Georgia
receiving the certificate of this standard.
The main purpose of OHSAS is to enable the organization to control health
and occupational risks and improve the current situation.
HR Director of Efes Georgia, KHATUNA CHKHAIDZE, spoke about the
importance and necessity of OHSAS 18001:2007 certificate and standards:

- The Company has been successfully certified to Occupational Health


and Safety Management Systems (OHSAS 18001:2007). The fact that Efes
Georgia is the first company in Georgia receiving the certificate of this standard
is really to be proud of. The certification process turned out to be quite laborconsuming, but today the standard helps the company improve safety culture,
reduce occupational risks and create safe environment for business.
- What particular procedures did the company go through in order
to receive the certificate?
- The entire staff of the company was involved in the process. We
contacted Georgian Employers Association and informed them about our
desire of receiving the certificate. Within the framework of the certification
process, the experts were invited. With their help and under their supervision, everyday risks referring to the staff and enterprise were evaluated and
all the necessary measures to mitigate the situation were implemented. In
particular, the experts inspected the factory, took the photos and provided us
with the detailed information regarding the existing risks. There were issues
that were assessed as low risk problems and could be eliminated within an
hour, however, high risk problems existed as well and it took relatively more
time to work on them. For this purpose, a special committee was established
at the company, which consisted of the technical director, director of logistics
and all those responsible people dealing with the ongoing risks. Committee
meetings were held once a week and allocation of tasks was carried out; after

that, each committee member and responsible unit tried to eliminate the risks
in a timely manner. We had quite a strong desire to obtain the certificate;
therefore it required much effort and commitment. The main purpose was
to raise the awareness of the personnel, even to change their psychology to
some extent and to assure everyone that it was necessary to accomplish the
goal. The expert was absolutely surprised after inspecting us in two months
period, as everything was resolved in a timely manner. Finally, after 3-4
months, we came to the point where it was possible to invite an expert from
the certification organization TUV SUD in order to conduct an audit. The
process was carried out in a very strict manner, each and every minor detail
was rechecked, however, we successfully met all the requirements and obtained the certificate. The existing system will be verified periodically, indeed
and the invited experts will conduct an audit of the enterprise.
- Are the employees informed about the system and what is their
attitude?
- We even set off a false alarm several times and the exam was successfully passed. Taking into consideration interests of the personnel, the company
purchased quite expensive equipment for private security so that the staff feels
safe and comfortable during the working process. We realize that any kind
of production involves certain kinds of risks; therefore we try to minimize
them. The certificate of OHSAS proves that it has already turned into a habit
to organize safe and functional working environment at Efes Georgia it is
simply an integral part of everyday life.
- There is another novelty, which will protect the interests of the
employees. The parliament approved amendments to the Labour Code,
in particular, there will be 41-hour workweek and all hours worked in
excess of 48 hours will be regarded as overtime; the employer wont be
allowed to dismiss the employee unjustifiably and will be obliged to give
him/her an advance notice in a written form 30 days prior to dimissal.
How important arethe approved amendments? And are the interests of
the employer well-protected?
- My attitude is as follows: the fair labour code shouldnt burden neither
the conditions of employer nor the employees, it must be mutually beneficial.
The approach of our company is to make the best conditions for our employees, because a satisfied employee is more loyal, productive and motivated. I
can proudly declare that, since 2008, Efes Georgia has worked in accordance
with the principles, which are required by the Labour Code today. The reason for this is that in 2008 we became the members of the Efes Breweries
International, which has resulted in formation of the working conditions that
were more oriented on the employees. Intensive trainings for the personnel
development, health insurance, loans, advance payment, thirteenth salary,
free meal, monthly gift products (beer and lemonade), transportation of the
employees, a doctor all of these isnt a novelty at the company.
- According to the new Labor Code, an employer is obliged to give
an employee a written notice 30 days prior to dismissal. A company
cannot dismiss an employee unjustifiably anymore. How do such kind
of changes affect the business?
- Efes Georgia has its own disciplinary policy a Code of Conduct, which is
divided into levels and is familiar to each employee. Therefore everyone knows
what kind of outcome has to be expected as a result of a particular violation. We
also take into consideration the fact that only those dont fail who never work and
therefore take a common-sense approach to many kinds of mistakes. For example, it
is a well-known fact at our company that working while being drunk is categorically
prohibited. Everyone knows what to expect after taking alcohol test. In general, the
dismissal rate at Efes Georgia is very low, but if the staff reduction is inevitable,
an individual receives an advance notice 30 days prior to dismissal and gets corresponding compensation. Ill give one more example: during a maternity leave,
an employee is guaranteed that she keeps her job and gets fully paid.
- According to one of the articles of the Code, all hours worked in
excess of 48 hours will be regarded as overtime and for every additional
hour an overtime payment will be granted. Whak kind of problems may
arise, from the employers point of view, taking into account companys
financial situation? How was this issue regulated before recently approved amendments?
- All of the employees receive an overtime payment as soon as working
exceeds 41 hours. We consider this during budgeting. As beer production
is a continuous process, there is a night shift at the factory, where our ratio
equals to 1.2 and during holidays the payment is doubled, all of this has been
approved at our company since 2008.
- At what extent will the amendments of the Labor Code protect
an employee?
- Any amendment, which aims to improve the Labor Code, must be
really welcomed. As a result of these amendments, the employees will feel
more protected indeed.

Renewed Lemonade
Natakhtari Lemonade has a new logo and packaging. At the presentation specially organized for this event, Tornike Nikolaishvili, the
Marketing Director of Efes Georgia, said that the consumers required
some novelty and the company management didnt have right to ignore
such demand. He also explained that Natakhtari Lemonade is a certain
kind of ambassador of Georgia on the exporting markets.
According to the researches, our consumers requested the change
of packaging and after the redesign lemonade bottle has become quite
comfortable and attractive. Within the framework of the project, the label
and logo was also changed. One of the foreign designing agencies was
working on the new logo and bottle design. This was quite a complicated process but weve got an exclusive bottle as a result, which was a
consequence of mutual work of the design agency and bottle producer
company, said Tornike Nikolaishvili.
Nikolaishvili mentioned that it took about ten months to work on
the project. Based on the researches, the new packaging was designed
in accordance with the consumers requirements.
However, only the packaging has changed. The quality is still of the
highest standard. In general, when a brand is successful and everything
goes smoothly, the changes are made rarely. But in our case, rebranding took place because of another factor. The above-mentioned change
became necessary because of the requirements of consumers, it was their
wish. The bottle is exclusive. Actually, we have established a brand new
standard in the industry, explained Nikolaishvili.

The fans of Natakhtari Lemonade are already able to buy pearflavored lemonade (0,33L tin cans) in newly designed cans. The new
packaging (with recommended price of 80 tetri) is handy and more
comfortable to hold.
After the redesign of the packaging, the company representatives
introduced a new product of Natakhtari Lemonade. The pear-flavored
lemonade appeared in a newly designed tin can on Georgian market.
Launching of new packaging is a result of increased demand on
this product, so it was decided to produce lemonade in 0,33L tin cans;
apart from that, this kind of packaging is more convenient for consumers. The above-mentioned change will foster the growth of lemonade
consumption as well as contribute to strengthening the positions in the
exporting countries.

Mission 2013 Final Task

On May 2nd, the presentation of the second stage of
students competition Mission 2013 took place at
the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
Nino Surmava, PR Supervisor of Efes Georgia,
introduced the task of the second stage to the finalists.
The students will be developing 2013 Communicational
Campaign of Natakhtari Lemonade Fund during 1 month
period. At the beginning of June, 5 finalist teams will
introduce their presentations to specially invited jury. The
Jury will reveal three best teams. The prize fund (5000
Lari) will be distributed among winners as follows:

Several ideas from the presented projects will be

brand. The company participating in the contest changes
every year and the competitors generate fresh ideas for
some new company. In 2013 the co-organizer is Efes
Georgia.
The purpose of the contest is to support the students
in implementation of new ideas and developing their
career. Apart from that, the competition gives a perfect
chance to winners to cooperate with the partner company and have the employment perspective in future.

Project Take Care of Future, 240 Thousand
GEL was Gathered During Two Years
The second stage of fund raising has finished, 240 thousand Gel
was gathered during two years in total, which will be used to prepare the
adolescents deprived of parental care for independent life. In addition,
it should be noted that last year we were focused only at 16-18 year-old
youths, this year the age limit of our focus group has expanded and
ranges between 15-18 years, which enables us to increase the number
of beneficiaries as well, said Marketing Director of Efes Georgia
Tornike Nikolaishvili and added that the fund will support 144 adolescents
deprived of parental care.

The head of psychologists team of the Our House Georgia (the


project partner), Manana Omarashvili also talked about the importance
of the Fund.
Our purpose is to evaluate the skills of adolescents and define their
professional orientation i.e. which occupation is appropriate for each of
them. Yet the main goal is that when the adolescents turn 18 years old and
the state stops to assist them, they have their own profession, as a result
of which they will be able to take care of their own lives and integrate
into society more actively, said Omarashvili.

laboratory is functioning successfully. Renovating the laboratory is an ongoing
process and serves the purpose of improving quality control. Such re-equipping is
positively affecting the quality control process of the production. What on the other
hand, is giving us ability to produce high quality products. To satisfy consumers
high standards, our company has implemented quality and food safety management
system (ISO 9001:2008), what is one more proof of our ability to retain high
standards by effective management. At this moment we are preparing for food safety
management system (ISO 22000:2005) implementation, which will describe food

Marina Chighladze is a chemist by profession; shes been working at Efes Georgia


on the above position for four years already; however, shes got 12-year old experience
in working at the enterprise.
Its an interesting job, which requires much energy, effort and responsibility.
You are not allowed to make a mistake. We control all the raw materials needed for
beer and lemonade production. In addition, ready products also go through our control
process, to cut it short, we monitor the entire cycle from row materials to storage of
product, says Ms. Marina.
- In case you dont like something, are you allowed to stop the entire process
of production?
- Of course, we are strongly authorized to make such kind of decisions. A single
mistake from our side may lead to fatal results. Therefore the control is a very strict and
ongoing process each stage of production is closely monitored. Nothing is coming in
and indeed nothing leaves the factory without our checkup.
- You protect the quality of production. How does the established ISO system
help the company to communicate with the consumers?
- The quality systems granted to the company mean that the enterprise has the ability
to constantly maintain quality through the effective management. Especially when the
company itself does its best to protect product safety norms; this is the reason why the
food safety management ISO 22000:2005 is so important to our company, which is not
granted to other beer producer companies in Georgia.
- How do you assist the employees in terms of professional development?
- We take part in various trainings and contests constantly. This is important. You
should keep on learning. You shouldnt forget the joy of learning.
- What would you wish for your colleagues for future?
- To keep on working as energetically and successfully as they do today.

results. The Company came the second in the Silver League, while in
Golden League it was the best and defeated Eristavi Law Firm in the

I always liked automobiles and wanted to study them on a professional level. I wished to know purpose of each detail. Im grateful to
Natakhtari for supporting and giving me the chance of studying. Ill
graduate from this school in four months. I want to be fully educated
in this field and plan to get a job in this direction. Before that, I would
like to get a driving license as well, says Kasimov. He lives in Ksani
village, in Mtskheta, with his father.
As for the professional readiness, the project psychologists declare
that they didnt require much effort with Kasimov for achievement of
the goal and adaptation.
Elvina had clearly formulated goals and wishes; he knew exactly
what he could achieve, within the framework of his abilities. As far as
he has only nine grade school education, we decided to give him some
kind of vocational education, a handicraft and choose an appropriate
college for him. As it turned out, he has always been interested in vehicles. Therefore Spectrum College was selected, where Elvina passed
entrance exams. Although he didnt get full funding from the college,
Natakhtari Fund financed his tuition fee. For the time being he is studying but as soon as he finds some free time, the Fund is ready to finance
driving license training courses for him as well, says the psychologist,

To be honest, I never used to dream as a child to become famous and
popular, I preferred more practical type of occupations. For instance, in
elementary school, I wanted to be a doctor. However, Ive been always
interested in fashion industry. I liked beautiful and sophisticated girls,
their clothes and appearances. I also wanted to take care of their image
and participate in the process of making them prettier. As a child, I
made my dream come true in a certain way - I used to make new clothes
for my dolls, changing their hairstyle and make-up. With the support of
Natakhtari Fund my childhood dream, at first, turned into a goal and
then became my reality. I took two months cosmetology course at the
educational center Natalie, which gave me significant experience. During this period I was living in Tbilisi. Apart from financing the training
fees, Natakhtari took care of the accommodation as well. Today Im
more confident, I am confident Ill get a job more easily now and will be
able to make another childhood dream come true I really want to study
psychology, says Mariam and remembers the days she had spent at a
small family-type orphanage in Khashuri.
Im a purposeful person and if I want something very much, I always
achieve my goal. Im absolutely sure that one day my loved ones will be
proud of me. I acquired many friends at the orphanage. Some of them
still live there; others have gone back to their families like me. I still
keep in touch with them. For the time being, I live in Gori with my aunt
together with my brothers. I really wish to become a philanthropist, do
the charity and help children deprived of parental care. Nothing compares
to this pleasurable feeling, says Mariam.
It should be noted that within the framework of the project Mariam
Mchedlidze receives assistance of 500 Gel on a monthly basis to take care
of basic living conditions. The Iavnana Foundation provided her family
with an apartment, which still has to be renovated, but with the help of
Natakhtari Fund the living conditions will improve shortly.

Engagement Survey
2013
In March, the employees of our Company were interviewed
for the survey, in which 98% of the personnel were involved and
that is quite a high figure. The purpose of the research was to
find out the level of engagement and satisfaction of the staff, as
well as to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the Company
from their perspective. Compared to the similar kind of survey
conducted in 2009 and 2011, the methodology was different
this time. While the main purpose of previous research was to
determine the level of satisfaction among employees, this time
the main priority was the identification of engagement quality;
i.e. the answer was given to the following question: what is our
contribution to companys activities and do we achieve quality
results as a consequence? Based on the research it became clear
that the engagement ratio of the employees is 78%, while 22%
is more or less engaged and 0% is not engaged at all.
83% of the staff is satisfied with the current position and
only 1% is not satisfied.

IVE FOUND MY OCCUPATION AT NATAKHTARI
I graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Tbilisi State University, but
I could never imagine that I would start working as a chemist anywhere. A friend
of mine suggested applying to Natakhtari Company. I was very happy when they
invited me to an interview and I was even happier when I already became their
employee later. Ive been working as a chemist at the company lab since then. It
seems as if Ive found my occupation here and Im very satisfied. We are mobilised all the time not to miss any kind of innovation and its our special concern
to produce quality products.

HOME-WORKPLACE-HOME KIND OF LIFESTYLE


HAS DRIVEN ME CRAZY
I manage to self-realise for the time being. In spite of the fact that I love my
job, home-workplace-home kind of lifestyle has driven me crazy As a result,
Ive found some free time I love music and singing a lot I stuck to Panduri
(Georgian three-string instrument) for some reason. I like Georgian folk songs. I
wanted to learn playing on a professional level. Its been two years already since I
started learning at the Youth Centre of the Patriarchate. A few months ago I started
performing with Lazare-Iavnana ensemble. They teach me how to chant; in short,
my childhood dream has come true. I always wanted to do this. Yes, Im still in
the middle of learning process but as the saying goes: learn till you die. In spite
of my busy schedule, Im still happy.

BEER, BREAD AND MAYONNAISE


As soon as I find some free time, I start to sing, I even work singing. I dont
like monotony. I remember once I started singing while walking with my friends
in the street. The passers-by gave us some money; they thought we were street
musicians. We spend that money on some beer, bread and mayonnaise On that
evening I had a wonderful time with my friends, which Ill never forget.

NOW IVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH DANCING.


WHAT WILL BE THE NEXT STEP?
Im so fascinated with playing Panduri that I even sing while being at work.
In addition, the desire of dancing visited me and I thought: Why not? I should
dance! I attend the amateur group, trying to learn dancing on a professional level
too. Maybe I wont end up at the Sukhishvilis Ensemble but the main thing is
that I get much pleasure from dancing. I remember maestro Moris told me once:
Dancing is the heart and you are dancing heartedly! That was very important
assessment for me. I cant tell you what the next step will be but I have to admit
that I really want to learn playing djembe

THE SECRET
Ill give away one secret I get home from Natakhtari late, by 7 p.m. But I cant
sit still. So I started jogging in the neighbourhood garden. I live a healthy lifestyle.

I LOVE NATAKHTARI
I rarely drink beer but whenever I do, I never betray Natakhtari. I love my
job, my occupation and the environment that exists here. Team working and the
feeling of mutual respect is quite enough here to feel happy. Im happy that I
work at Natakhtari.

innovative drawing. This year, the drawing lasted from May 15th to July
15th. Participation rules are very simple: you can open any size plastic
bottle of Natakhtari beer and find 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 Gel notes
placed in a special capsule in a bottle cap.
Its the 5th drawing already, the prize money is gradually increasing. This year, the drawing budget is over 500 000 Lari. This is the most
innovative drawing; there is no other way to have such a chance of winning money so promptly, says Tornike Nikolaishvili, the Marketing
Director of the Company.
According to the statement of Nikolaishvili, there is a winning indicator printed with laser on the each and every size bottle cap, except for
the tin cans (also in 0,5L glass bottles, as well as 1L, 2L and 2.5L plastic

new beer unfiltered wheat Kaiser, which
is distinguished by its special flavor among
others. For Georgian consumers, it is already
being produced in Georgia taking into consideration German traditions and having
exclusive license.
The company organized the presentation
of new beer at the Beer Garden restaurant
and arranged the tasting of Unfiltered Wheat
Kaiser. This is the first case of mass production of unfiltered wheat beer in Georgia.

produced in Bavaria and has quite a complicated production process. This is the reason
why most of beer-brewing companies try to
avoid its production. But we dared and took a

What We Should Know about Unfiltered Beer?


Beer fans know very well what the unfiltered beer is and how we should
drink it. Everyone is a good expert of doing this. Lets find out together,
whether it is true or false and what kind of wrong ideas may exist among
our beer lovers. So lets try to answer a couple of simple questions.
WHAT IS UNFILTERED BEER AND HOW DOES IT
DIFFER FROM THE ORDINARY BEER?
First of all, it should be noted that there are many kinds of beer
and the terms like ordinary and extraordinary arent widely used.
Nowadays, the most commonly spread beer worldwide is lager type
filtered beer, which makes over 80% of production. Only three ingredients malt, hops and water are used for brewing. Beer production
consists of four basic stages, brewing, fermentation, filtration and
bottling. Here is the difference exactly. Unfiltered beer doesnt go
through the filtration process and its bottling takes place right after the
fermentation. They also specify light and dark beers, porter, export,
draught beer and other types; this basically depends on the ingredients
and brewing technologies used.
HOW CAN WE CHARACTERIZE UNFILTERED BEER?
Unfiltered beer, which is noted with some special term in German
language Kellerbiers (word-for-word translation would be Base-

ment Beer), is ordinary lager type beverage that has some certain
aroma given from special hops. Such beer comes in various degrees
of alcohol volume and is usually with an average alcohol from 5.5
to 6.5%. Unfiltered beers are mostly dark amber in color such color
is given from relatively dark malt (so-called Munich malt), which
has kind of reddish coloring. In the old days, the carbonation of the
original, real unfiltered beer didnt last for too long, because it was
usually served with an open top, mostly in some wooden mugs, while
its preparation process was still in progress. Traditional unfiltered beer
is characterized with dark and unclear color because the half-brewed
extract cannot hold the carbon dioxide, beer compounds enter into
reaction with oxygen and oxidation takes place.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO DRINK
UNFILTERED BEER?
Among other drinks, unfiltered beer intensifies the appetite the best
of all and it is recommended to drink it before having your dinner.
