1. Introduc4on

The Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup was established in 2005. Over these last 10 years the FR2.0 NEC has become
one of the stepping stones for the ul,mate goal in motorsports: Formula 1.

The calendar consists of seven weekends, all with free prac,ce, qualifying sessions and two or three races.

The Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup is the only European series that races on all (but one) F1 circuits in order to
provide an excellent prepara,on for the future of young talented drivers.

4. Mee4ng format & tyres

Mee4ng Format

-  2 x 45 minutes, free prac,ce sessions
-  2 x 20 minutes qualifying sessions (with a five minute break in between in the pit lane)
The races are 25 minutes each

- Start grid 1 is the result of the first qualifying session
- Start grid 2 is the result of the second qualifying session
- Start grid 3 is the 2nd best ,me of the first qualifying session (Hockenheim only)


The series has its own race director and scru,neering team

An Interna,onal B or C licence is required to take part in the series

Tyre regula,ons as in 2015.

The mee,ng format may change on certain events due to recommenda,ons of the event
organizers.

5. Full season and single race

€ 14,500 ex. VAT for cars registered before February 29, 2016.
€ 17,500 ex. VAT for cars registered on or aeer March 1, 2016.

Fee includes the qualifying sessions and two or three races per weekend.
The free prac,ce sessions on Thursday or Friday (depending on the event) will be charged per event € 500 ex. VAT per car.

Single race registra4on

€ 2,900 ex. VAT per race weekend. This must be paid one week before the event by bank transfer or
cash upon registra,on on the event.

6. PR, TV and social media

The series has its own dedicated website: www.necup.com.

Press releases are sent to na,onal and interna,onal press throughout the year.

Most races (except Assen and Hungaroring) will be broadcast live on the series' own YouTube channel, www.formularenault.tv and
on www.renault-sport.de/live with both English and German commentary. Three-minute highlights are added aeer most races.

A press officer and photographer will be present at every event and the series has its own bi-lingual circuit speaker.

Facebook (Formula Renault 2.0 NEC) and TwiYer (@FR2NEC) are used throughout the season and during the race weekends.

- Full day test in a F3, including a full day simulator training
(in coopera,on with Van Amersfoort Racing)
Second place
- A half day test in the F3.5 V8 (in coopera,on with Fortec Motorsport)
- Free entry for the FR2.0 NEC 2017 season
Third place
-  A half day test in a F3.5 V8 (in coopera,on with Fortec Motorsport)
Winner Rookie Cup
-  Free entry for the FR2.0 NEC 2017 season
-  € 10,000 (incl. VAT) in spare parts in 2017
- All drivers will be observed to be included in the Porsche Junior Selec,on procedure.

Notes

•  To be classified as a Rookie the driver has to be 16 or 17 years old on the 1st of April 2016 and it must be his/her first year in a FR2.0 car.
•  Rookies will drive with a red number on their car and a special Rookie trophy will be awarded at each race.
•  A prize for best Rookie is awarded at the end of the season. But if the Rookie finishes 1 – 3 only one prize can be claimed.
•  All prizes are personal and not transferable.
•  All prizes are only awarded to drivers who have par,cipated the full season.

9. NEC and F1
In Formula 1 in the past and present you'll find a number of drivers who have raced for one or more years in the Formula
Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup.

ValYeri BoYas won his second season in the NEC in 2008 and is now the star driver for the Williams F1 team. Daniil Kvyat
(seasons 2010 - 2012) now races for the Red Bull F1 team. Carlos Sainz Jr. (winner 2011) has just joined the Torro Rosso team
while Sébas,en Buemi (season 2006) used to race for this team. Buemi s,ll con,nues to compete in the Renault racing series
through the FIA Formula-E. Robin Frijns (season 2010 and 2011) was the Caterham F1 team test driver in 2014.

In total 543 drivers took part in one or more races in the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup from 2006 un,l now.

Our drivers come from all over the world:

The only Renault Sport Technologies approved engine tuner allowed in the FR2.0 NEC is Oreca Magny-Cours

A dyno check at Oreca must be done before the start of the season
