A Look Back
We’ve celebrated our way to the weekend! What a great time we had! It’s hard to believe that we said good riddance to MAP and we’re moving on the 4th grade! We only have five weeks of 3rd grade left! I am amazed at how quickly the year flew by. The students worked very hard this week and most definitely earned our beach party day. We played musical beach ball, had a water balloon toss, read on our beach towels outside, and watched a swampy movie and colored. We never get to do that much fun stuff in a day!
Classroom Rule: Work hard, have fun! .
A Peek to Next Week
It’s back to business next week! I’m glad to see the old routine coming back. We still have a lot of curriculum to cover before the end of the year. A lot of our next few weeks will be spent researching something! Next week we will begin our research on famous inventors/scientists and China. We’re going to look at some great inventions that hailed from China, as well. These are some of my favorite units in third grade. We get to look at other cultures and compare them to how we live in America. I also love the inventors/ scientists unit. It’s gives the students some great information about famous people that they may not be familiar with.

Next Week Cont.
We’ll also study a bit of government next week. We’ll break federal government up in to its three branches and research to discover what each branch does. Not only will we be doing all of that, we’ll also go back to reading and math. Some of us will continue working on multiplication basic facts, while others will move on to double and triple digit multiplication. If your child hasn't passed all of their tests, please continue practicing with them on this. We go back to having our literature circles. Each reading group chose the books that their team will read this week. Each team will work on a final project to go with their books.
Per-per-per Per-perseverance Believe in yourself and don't give up. You can do it! Don’t forget, you can still send in items for the carnival basket. We are still in need of a few items for our “Keeping Germs Away” basket. The letter came home today with your child explaining about my move to 4th grade. If you would like to take part in this, please send the letter back. I’m extremely excited about this opportunity! Although I love 3rd grade, I’ve been waiting to teach 4th grade for a couple years. It’s a fabulous opportunity for me to experience a new grade!
