Most buildings rely mainly on primary energy from energy supplier. But with a VRV solution. as well as for ventilation. and all the products. to deliver the definitive answer: a total solution that redefines efficiency. Energy is needed for both heating and cooling. Daikin has the technology. an integrated climate control solution can be delivered that offers much higher energy efficiency levels. by understanding the whole building’s heating and cooling needs at the outset. Typically. these functions are powered and operated by separate systems and all of the energy collected by these systems is rejected into the outside air. for hot water and refrigeration. This means only the outdoor units and heat recovery branch selector boxes have to be changed – saving time and reducing costs. its refrigerant piping.600m2 Cardiff office building an additional benefit – a healthy extra 350m2 of space to let to the new tenant. which means that it often requires simultaneous cooling and heating. Daikin’s innovative VRV-Q plug-in system was selected to replace outdated air conditioning systems using now banned R22 refrigerant. The VRV IV heat recovery facility means rejected thermal energy from the ‘hot’ side can be used efficiently to warm the colder parts of the building. It can reduce the cost of an R22 upgrade by up to 50% because VRV-Q outdoor units are designed to work with existing R22 piping – and potentially also controllers and indoor units manufactured after 1996. Daikin’s brand new VRV IV heat recovery air conditioning was specified for its cutting edge technology and high efficiency. > 3 VRV IV heat recovery condensing units (22h and 26hp) > 38 Roundflow Cassettes (1. Air temperature control via an external
DDC controller (field supplied)
Room temperature is controlled as a function of the air handling
unit suction or discharge air (customer selection). The DDC
controller translates the temperature difference between set point
and air suction temperature (or air discharge temperature or room
temperature) into a reference voltage (0-10V) which is transferred
to the Daikin control box (EKEQFCBA). This reference voltage will be
used as the main input value for the compressor frequency control.

Possibility Y (Te/Tc control):
By fixed evaporating temperature
A fixed target evaporating temperature of between 3°C and 8°C
can be set by the customer. In this case, room temperature is only
indirectly controlled. The cooling load is determined from the
actual evaporating temperature (i.e. load to the heat exchanger).
A Daikin wired remote controller (BRC1D52 or BRC1E52A/B optional) can be connected for error indication.
