Jumaa Prayer

for the Muslims of Africa and beyond

West Africa Advanced School of Theology

March 4, 2016

Intercede for the Muslim World!
“But I say to you who hear…bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you” (Luke 6:27-28, ESV).

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries
DR CONGO: An alumnus opened a church about 3 years ago in an area shared by both Muslims and traditional
churches (mainly Catholic). He asks for wisdom in dealing with the spiritual instability of many, who tend to move
from church to church and do not become grounded in God's Word and established in a fellowship. Pray that the Lord
would guide this pastor and do a work in the hearts of those who need to submit fully to Him. Pray for the Muslims
who are coming to faith in Jesus, that they would grow.
SENSITIVE COUNTRY: We have been praying God would provide an interim director for a center that is reaching
many Muslims here. Please continue to pray that this center will not have to close for the months the directors must be
away. Students have said, “This Centre is the one place where we feel freedom to talk, to think about many things.”
WAAST: The first semester of 2016 has begun and Jumaa Prayer meetings have resumed on campus. Pray that new
and returning students would sense a growing burden to intercede for Muslims. As we pray together and consider the
lostness of Muslims, may the Holy Spirit give these pastors creative ideas for reaching them and for helping their
church members to do so as well.

In the News
Hundreds of refugees in a camp in the northern port city of Calais, France, are being evicted and their makeshift
homes dismantled in the southern end of the camp. More than 3,500 people, mostly from Muslim nations, live in the
camp, called “the Jungle,” and are being offered housing in refurbished containers or transport to other centers. The
Assemblies of God has established a tent church in the Jungle and has been offering both physical and spiritual help.
Please pray that this work can continue and grow. Pray for those who must move, that the Lord would put others in
their path who will show them His love and hope.

2016 World Watch List: Ethiopia
Ethiopia, on the Horn of Africa, ranks 18 th on the list of 50 nations where Christians suffer the most persecution.
Though Muslims are a minority, Islamic extremism is a major cause of this persecution. Thirty-one tribes, most of
whom follow Islam, still need a strong witness among them. Please pray for church-planting efforts of the Ethiopia
Assemblies of God among these people groups and for favor in their communities.

From Global Initiative*
Pray for Arabs in Palestine who have come to the Lord from Muslim backgrounds. The Lord is using many means to
draw them to himself: the personal witness and changed lives of believers, radio and TV programs and follow-up
materials, Bible reading, dreams, visions, divine intervention in their lives, and disillusionment with Islam. Pray for
the spiritual growth of these Christians and that their lives would in turn attract others to Jesus.

For Muslim Women**
Intercede for L., a lady from a Christian background who has converted to Islam and married an ISIS radical.
