There is a line from a song made popular years ago that says, “Signs
of the times are everywhere…..”. If you’ve bothered to read the paper,
watch the news, read internet articles, you have to know that the signs
of the Lords coming are everywhere. If there was ever a reason to
make sure you were right with God and had close fellowship with Him,
it is now!!!!! With that being said, why then are more and more
churches cutting services? Why are people finding more and more
reasons to do other things on the Lord’s day other than worship Him?
Why is there a sense of apathy among the Christian population of
America? I think the answer is that we’ve moved just a little too far
away from the fire! We need the fire of God burning in our hearts and
lives!!! Does He burn in you?
I got a set of tires put on my truck back while it was still cold weather.
I stood at a wood burning stove in order to keep warm. That stove was
putting out some heat! When the front part of me got too warm, I’d
simply turn around and warm the back part of me. I kept turning in
circles, making sure that I was totally warm. Therein lies the problem.
Too many of God’s people refuse to get close to the fire, refuse to stay
moving to be consumed with the fire and refuse to search out the fire.
The truth is, when you get cold enough, you become numb. You don’t
feel anything anymore. That explains the state of a large part of
Christian America. We’ve gotten numb…. We don’t feel anything,
sense anything, hear anything, see anything….. What a terrible shape
for people to get into who say with their mouths they love God, yet are
too numb to feel Him, see the signs of His coming, hear His voice
calling out to them.
I’M GLAD I’M PART OF A CHURCH THAT IS NOT AFRAID OF
THE FIRE!!!!!!!! However, just because there is fire all around you,
doesn’t mean you are being engulfed with that fire. YOU have to start
moving. YOU have to make a conscience effort to find the source of
the fire, direct yourself towards that fire, do whatever is necessary to be
engulfed in that fire, do whatever is necessary to insure that the fire of
God NEVER GOES OUT!!!!! How can you do that? 1) Stay up to
date in your devotional time with the Lord. 2) Be consistent in church
attendance 3) Join us in scheduled prayer times 4) Be obedient to the
Word of God 5) Be filled and/or refilled with the Holy Ghost 6) Find
someone to be accountable to.
Sunday morning, we will be receiving a special offering to be used for YOUTH….AMAZING RACE….FRIDAY, APRIL 23 …6 PM at
our children to go towards their Kidfest Trip. Right before the offering the home of Rev. Jason Fowler. Come expecting a great time of fun,
there will be a video played showing you some of the videos from past food, and fellowship.
Kidfest trips. Prayerfully consider what the Lord would have you do
and in advance, I’d like to say a great big thank you for your
investment into the children of our church!
In just two weeks, we’ll be joining other churches of our community in
CHILDREN’S CHURCH will sponsor a HOT DOG SALE on
an outdoor service on Main Street, Woodruff. The service will be held th
