4th Sunday of Lent - March 6

Welcome Home

God has mercy on his people. (Josh 5)

Whoever is in Christ is a new creation. (2 Cor 5)
The parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15)
A classic Charles Schulz
Peanuts cartoon gives us a
lesson in forgiveness. The
cartoon opens with Lucy
chasing after Charlie Brown
and
shaking her fist at him. Im
going to get you, Charlie

Brown, she cries.

Charlie Brown comes to a sudden halt and calmly
turns to face her. Lucy, if we dont forgive each
other as children, how will our parents learn to forgive each other? And how in turn will the world
learn to forgive? Exasperated by his question, Lucy hauls off and punches poor Charlie in the face.
In the last frame, Lucy turns and looks out at the
readers. I had to, she explains. He was beginning
to make sense.
Todays Gospel story is the familiar parable of the
prodigal son. When we hear it, we are amazed at
the enduring love of the father who gives us a powerful lesson on how to forgive. It makes sense.
--Deacon Dick Folger

Next weeks readings . . .

The Lord is doing something new. (Isa 43)
Being one with Christ is worth everything. (Phil 3)

Welcome to New Parishioners

We are happy to welcome new Families to our Parish Community. If you have not yet registered as
Parishioners, please call or come to the Parish Office to meet us and give us your family information.

We welcome you to our church and offer these simple WORSHIP PRACTICES to help everyone enter fully, consciously,
and actively in our liturgies. As We Gather. We should
be quiet when we enter the church. All private prayer
ceases when Mass begins and we join as one Body of
Christ. All chatter or visiting at the church entry
must cease while Mass is being celebrated.
