You decide
In Trysil, nature‘s theme park, there are activities to suit the whole
family. Whether you want to be active or peaceful, whether you
want to experience an adrenalin rush or a soothing massage, you
have plenty to choose from. To help you find the right experience
for you, we have sorted all our activities into four categories: easy,
active, extreme and wellness. The activity’s colour code will deter-
mine which tempo it has.
Experience everything that Trysil has to offer at a tempo that suits
you! In Trysil, you decide.

Trysil wellness

Trysil easy
Sometimes it’s important to get away from it
all. In Trysil, both the landscape and our offers
invite you to take it easy. Float gently down
the Trysil River on one of our rafts, while your
float lies on the water and the sausages are on
the barbecue. Breathe in the clear mountain
air. Absorb the rich cultural life which stret-
ches back over the generations. In Trysil, you
decide.
Trysil wellness
Wellness is a part of our nature. For some,
wellness is looking quietly out over the water
with a fishing rod in hand, surrounded by mag-
nificent scenery. Others find it in the evening
air around the campfire or at a spa where the
whole body gets the attention it deserves.
Genuine wellness is all about finding what feels
right for you. What that may be, is not up to us.
In Trysil, you decide.

Trysil extreme
Excitement is an integral part of our nature.
Launch yourself into the river and let it carry
you through the stunning countryside. Walk
quietly amongst the trees and discover the
rich wildlife. Feel the adrenalin pumping
through your body as the paintballs whistle
around your ears. Feel your pulse quicken as
the big pike nears the hook. What you consider
exciting is up to you. In Trysil, you decide.

Trysil active
In Trysil, there are activities to suit the whole
family. Explore the countryside on two wheels
or get those legs working and enjoy a disco-
very trip in the mountains on foot. Let four
legs take you on a horseback adventure or let
yourself experience the natural forces of the
Trysil River. You will not run out of ways to be
active but what you choose to do is comple-
tely up to you. In Trysil, you decide.

museum, located in beautiful
surroundings just east of the
centre. There is also a wide
range of excellent shops in the
centre of town.

Experience magnificient
mountain plateau and excellent
fishing lakes on this round-trip
tour through Bittermarka.
Toll road (NOK 35) for private
vehicles (caravans and campers
prohibited.) Magnificient touring
terrain with marked trails and
dependable sites for picking
cloudberries. Award-winning
mountain lodge community
where the huts and lodges are
built well camouflaged into the
terrain. Summer farm with ani-
mals. Highest point: 900 metres

meieri is a little diary with goat
cheese production. Shop open
daily 13–16.
Ljørdalen valley
Route 3, approx. 90 km
This trip takes you to the vil-
lage furthest east in Trysil. The
beautiful Ljørdalen valley is
located right on the border with
Sweden, with the popular fish-
ing river Ljøra at the bottom
of the valley. Ljørdalen has its
own Tourist Information, shops,
post office, gas station, canoe
rental, hiking trails etc. Fulu-
fjellet Alpine Centre is located
southeast of Ljørdalen. Within
short distance you will find
Fulufjellet National Park. On
this round-trip you can also visit
bathing sites and the cultural-
historical canal Støa Chanel.

Osensjøen lake
Route 4, approx. 100 km
Osensjøen lake is located in a
beautiful setting in the western
part of Trysil. In the north you can
visit Osen church, dating back
to 1777. We also recommend
visiting Sørlistøa Timber Floating
Museum and Østre Æra where
battle positions from World War II
have been reconstructed. There
is a camping area with swimming
facility and a wonderful sandy
beach at Osensjøen’s northern-
most cove. Along the way you
also pass through magnificient
natural scenery, with many out-
standing sites to stop and have a
picnic along the way.
Elverum
Route 5, approx 150 km round-
trip
Elverum is a little city close to
Trysil, a modern dontown area
with shopping malls, college
and museums. The Norwegian
Forestry Museum and Glomdals
Museum both offer fascinating
exhibits and unique insights, and
both museums are known for
their professional museum work.
On the trip to or from Elverum, a
detour to visit the farm Snippen
Gård is highly recommended. The
farm features all types of farm
animals, activities for young and
old. Café with traditional Norwe-
gian menu.
Hamar
Route 5–6, approx. 220 km
round-trip
The medieval city of Hamar is
located in beautiful surround-
ings along the eastern shores of
lake Mjøsa. A modern city with
all modern amenities. There is
a wide range of attractive and
popular sites in the city: Dom-
kirkeodden, Hedmark Museum,
herb garden, Railway Museum
and the Viking Ship (official
skating arena during the 1994
Olympic Winter Games). You pass
Elverum on the way, see Route 5.
Lillehammer
Route 5–6–7, approx. 330 km
round-trip
Lillehammer, the Olympic City,
has a wide range of popular
attractions to choose from. All
the Olympic facilities, including
the characteristic Ski Jumping
Tower at Kanthaugen, are all well
worth a visit. Other popular tou-
rist destinations are The Sandvig
Collections at Maihaugen, the
Lillehammer Art Museum and
the city’s famous pedestrian
street, Gågata. Just north of Lil-
lehammer (15 km), you also have
the popular amusement park
Hunderfossen, as well as the
Olympic facilities in Hafjell. You
pass Elverum and Hamar on the
way, see Routes 5 and 6.
Mora, Sweden
Route 8, approx. 320 km
round-trip
On the way to Mora you pass by
the large ski resort Sälen. The
trip takes you along the same
route as Vasaloppet (famous ski
race) down to Siljan lake. The
Zorn Museum, Mora Church and
the pedestrian street at Mora
are all sites you should visit on
your trip. Several local wood-
workers and craft artists sell
their products in the area, such
as carvings of the Dala horse,
Sweden’s national symbol.
Engerdal–Røros
Rute 9: Engerdal–Elgå 220 km,
Røros 380 km tur/retur
On the road up to Engerdal, we
recommend that you stop to see
Røafallene waterfalls. You will
see the exit sign along the main
highway right after the munici-
pal boundary between Trysil and
Engerdal. Engerdal is famous
for its national parks: Femunds-
marka and Gutulia, which are
large stretches of virgin forest
and mountain landscapes. Other
popular destinations for visitors
include: Blokkodden Villmarks-
museum at Drevsjø, an exhibi-
tion of the woodcarving, the fish
processing and receiving station
at Elgå and The National Park
Centre at Elgå. During summer
the cultural-historical ship MS
Fæmund II daily departures
from Elgå. On the return trip,
you can follow the Trysilelva
river down through the beauti-
ful valley along Sennsjøen lake.
The famous mining town Røros,
with its old wooden houses,
museums, churches and mines,
has been heritage listed by
UNESCO (heritage list of the
world’s cultural treasures). The
tour to Røros passes through
magnificent natural scenery
west of the Femunden lake.
