Task Procedures:
1. Get pupils to play Simon Says in phrases using adverbs of manner.

Classroom Management: When pupils get too noisy, clap 3 times and gesture
silent sign. Pupils need to follow suit (clap 3 times and make silent sign).
2. Show pupils picture flashcards to pupils and stick strips onto whiteboard.
i. Look at this picture. Do you remember the phrase for this picture? (show
picture flashcards)
3. Repeat for all picture flashcards.
4. Show pupils sentence strips. Stick strips onto the whiteboard. Ask pupils to read
i. Please read. (pointing word-by-word for pupils to read)
5. Ask a pupil to match sentence strips to the correct picture flashcards. All pupils
read sentences aloud.
i. Match the sentence to a picture. (gesture a sentence strip to either of the
picture flashcards)
ii. Lets read together. (pointing word-by-word for pupils to read together)
6. Repeat step 5 for all sentence strips.
7. Ask pupils to underline adverbs of manner found in the sentences.
i. Find the adverb. Underline the adverb (Gesture - underline)
