TRS GALA & AUCTION – BOLLYWOOD NIGHTS Proxy Bidding Form

Can’t join us in person at this year’s Gala on May 1 but would still like to participate in the Raffle and Silent Auction? Now you can, by giving your proxy to the Gala event team to bid on your behalf, following these procedures. 1. Check out the catalog of auction items located at the sign in areas or online at http://trparent.posterous.com 2. For Box Raffle Extravaganza items: • Write down the box number and the total number of tickets for each box that you wish to have placed in that box. • The raffle tickets come in packs of 25 tickets at $25 per pack ($1 per ticket). You must purchase tickets in packs of 25. Each sheet of tickets includes a raffle ticket toward the Grand Prize mini-vacation at Squaw Valley! • You may include a check made payable to the TPA for the total number of ticket packs that you wish to purchase or you can wait to pay until after the auction. • Your proxy will place your raffle tickets in the boxes as you have indicated on this form. • Winning ticket holders will be contacted the following week to arrange for delivery. 3. For Silent Auction items: • Write down the item number and indicate the maximum amount you are willing to pay for each item you wish to bid on. • At the beginning of the Gala, your dedicated proxy (a Gala event team member) will write in your opening bid for each item. • 30 minutes before the close of the Silent Auction, your proxy will check on the bidding status of your selected item(s). • If you have been outbid, your proxy will write in another bid one increment higher than the current highest bid until your maximum amount is reached, if necessary. It is possible you may win the item without reaching your maximum bid amount. • Winning bidders will be contacted the following week to arrange for payment and delivery, so remember to include your contact information on this form. 4. Author, summer camp director, TED contributor and renowned tinkerer, Gever Tulley, will do a one-day build project with 10 Elementary children. This full day event will take place at TRS during the October 22nd teacher in-service day this fall (free childcare!). Gever created and runs The Tinkering School, a 1 week overnight camp in the Bay Area which has been much talked about including a story on NPRs All Things Considered. His work with kids in Tinkering School led him to write the book 50 Dangerous Things which has taken the world by storm. In the all-day build project, Gever and his assistants will work with your children to create a solid (but non-permanent) climbing structure. The project will be child-led - designed and executed by the participants - to maximize learning and understanding.
