Step by Step Instructions:

by Michelle Jackson-Mogford http://mjm-thearttart.blogspot.com/

(1.) Using click blade # 2803 in the rotary side of the Purple Cows 2 in 1 trimmer # 1040 trim around all the outside edges of the Hambly's screen print twigs and weeds (trimming away about 1/8th'' on each side) to create a decorative edging to the layout. Ink the decorative edge with blues from the Clearsnaps stacker chocolate and blueberries to emphasise the scallop edge. (2.) Print a 6'' x 4'' landscape photo and position it to the right of the 12x12 at an angle. Draw around the photo with a pencil and remove.

(3.) Using the deckle edge click blade # 2804 in the freestyle mouse cut out the frame from the layout. Do this by looking through the plastic cover of the blade and remember contact will not be made until you press the blade down. Also cut just outside of the pencil line you have drawn and cut it in a freestyle line. By using the mouse in this way looking for the contact point of the blade you can create an aperture in anything.

(4.) Ink around the aperture with the same blue ink as the outside edges of the layout. Rip back into the frame at irregular intervals on the ends and top edge of the frame, rolling and folding the sections back. (5.) Using the # 1040 guillotine cut a rectangle 8'' x 6'' from the Cosmo Cricket forget me not paper. Adhere this behind the aperture with the Glue Glider Pro leaving the bottom edge slightly free to slip the bottom edge of the photograph under it later.

( 6.) Position the photograph and draw a faint pencil line around it, remove the photograph and paint a scruffy line around the frame with Moonlight Smooch ink. (7.) Adhere the photograph in position with the glue glider pro. (8.) Cut a piece of Imaginisce flower 12 x12 in a freestyle wave using click blade # 2804 in the freestyle mouse. Make it approximately 10'' long and 2 1/2'' deep at the right hand side tapering to 1 1/2'' at the left. Ink the edges with purple cats eye inks from the stacker misty meadow. (9.) Cut a journal block from the Cosmo Cricket Chemistry journal blocks. Trim the left side of the block with the click blade # 2803 that is still in the rotary side of the 2 in 1 trimmer. Adhere in place to the left of the layout. (10.) Cut a section of the Clearsnaps daisy day Design Adhesive and apply it to the right side of the journal block. Add Clearsnaps grape fizz glitter to it. (11.) Add lengths of ribbon along the top edge of the flower paper, attaching with colored staples and pleating it along it's length. (12.) Create 3 flowers using Imaginisce fancy blossoms from the perfectly posh collection and Petaloo plain white Mulberry flowers that have been colored with permanent markers. To finish off the flowers add a small Petaloo glitter flower to the centre of each one. (13.) Cut a selection of butterflies form the Hambly overlay wings. Fold them in half and adhere to the layout with silicon so they look like they are flying. (14.) Finally add the journaling with the title of the layout at the bottom of the journal block. (15.) I hope you've enjoyed creating a fun springtime layout full of spring color and pretty edges, in fact why not bring spring into your home and put it on an easel to display for the season. Thanks for playing. Love
