LANGUAGE, LEARNING AND TEACHING

By: Juan Gabriel Castro

Language: its the way how we communicate each other through a set of commands and
vocabulary to express our ideas or simply to connect with someone else.
We all know the importance of having a good management of this aspect, on it depends
success of our life, both professional and personal. I think everything is possible through a
well using of language for that its quite important to keep in mind all kind of strategies to
maintain a well communication.

Learning: its the capacity that every human, even animals have to learn new things and this
way to adapt to our environment. Without learning its not possible anything we know. All
our achieved goals have been the result of our capacity to learn in order to make our lives
better and get all kind of satisfactions.

Teaching: its the quality to make that another people know new things. This is quite difficult
to get because every people have different ways to see the world making that teaching is a
hard task. Thanks to teaching its possible that our knowledge, traditions both cultural and
scientist as well as our typical behaviors can transcend.

LANGUAGE:
It is a fundametal element of the human communication process which development and main
characteristiques are cultural consequence of a human social group interaction. Such
characteristiques are, despite geographic location of human social groups, quite similar.

LEARNING:
It is the process of acquisition of some new knowledge or or skill thanks to the human brain's
capacity to retain information by means of its storage systems, memory and cognitive
organization; requiring active focus and reinforced practice in order to make that new
knowledge or skill acquisition as permanent as possible.

TEACHING:
It is the process linked to the learning process consisting on guiding a person to get certain
knowledge or skill by means of giving adequate instructions considering how the learner
learns and the most appropriate learning environment in order to apply the best teaching style,
subject approach, teaching methods and classroom techniques.

Language: In my point of view, there are two types of language, verbal and nonverbal the
two are quite important for the mankind, language is used for the most people because is
necessary to communicate with others, teach and learn other cultures through the language.
On the other hand the people used the nonverbal language many times, more than you can
ever imagine because all time the people speak and express with your hands, eyes, mouth for
example, when the people are happy, sad, worried etc. We dont need words to know how
people feel
Language is a system of symbols with which humans communicate with others to express
their ideas, feelings and intentions. Language is essential for human, develops spontaneously
in the child. Several types of verbal language as are through the spoken and written. The
nonverbal language we have, gestures, looks, greetings, touch, sound, flags, hieroglyphic and
symbols.
Learning: The learning, these are the stuff of daily life In fact, since we are born until we die,
we are in constant learning. The acquisition of knowledge or skill development, either
through study, training or experience that modifies the behavior of a human being factors
involved in learning and motivation, memory, cognitive aspects and learning strategies. The
learning process impacts upon human beings by means of cognitive processes that are
representative of culture and society. Learners have the freedom to choose what is really
important in your learning
Teaching: This is an art, which not all can do; teaching is a creative profession where the
teacher contributes to the development of the skills of every student. Teaching: This is an art,
which not all can do; teaching is a creative profession where the teacher contributes to the
development of the skills of every student.
Is the action to instruct or share knowledge to a receiver, it is a system and method of giving
instruction, composed of the body of knowledge, principles and ideas that are taught to
someone.

LANGUAGE: Language is a very complex skill that human beings develop in their
childhood without be aware of what they are doing. Every person who develops this skill,
executes it without understanding all the complex relationships that underlying it. First,
people develop their oral skills of language and second they develop their writing skills.

LEARNING: Learning is the way a person obtains and retains information so that this
person can use or apply that information in the future. Analyzing some of the words, it is
possible to think in concepts like storage information, recall, memory, using
knowledge on something; all of this concepts are related to learning.

TEACHING: Teaching refers to the way or form a person facilitates learning to another
person. It is related to guide another person in the journey of learning. In this form, teaching
is extremely related to learning; it is very important to understand what motivates a learner to
successfully guide him or her through the path of learning. When a teacher investigates and
know better the students, the teacher is able to use different strategies in order to help the
process of learning.

1. What is language?
Taking language as a systematic means of communicating ideas by the use of conventionalized
signs, sounds, gestures or marks, I can take this matter and split it in smaller well-defined
sections from my own perspectives and reflect about it.
For first instance, I would say that language is the ability God gave his human creation to stablish
oral communication through articulated phonems that every language possesses carrying a special
independent meaning. I can also say that animals communicate using their special commands, its
not a language itself, but it can be considered as a language because it carries meaning.
People also use body language to transmit information, feelings, mood and emotions by the
movement of some parts of the body. Information doesnt always come from articulated spoken
language.
For second instance, I would say that language identifies a physical area or location where people
belonging to a single culture defends and protects it and no matter if they take words from other
languages to enrich it.
2. What is learning?
Learning is a process where a person receives instruction that needs to be appropriated and stored
to have the possibility to take it into action more and more to get experience in a certain field or
matter. All of us have heard that humans learn everyday and constantly. Its true. We are
compared to sponges that absorbe what we need or are interested in to catch up knowledge, retain
it, use it, transmit it and take advantage of it. Have you heard or used this statement:?
Technology is running over me! We ignore more than what we already know.
3. What is teaching?
I think that teaching is the process of transferring knowlegde by the use of methods and
techniques. Actually, its not possible to conceive teaching without learning. These two processes
depend from each other. In the field of teaching languages, many authors have shared their
precious concepts and theories supporting them on real facts that have led us to deepen in the
study of forms, methodologies, structures and schools of knowledge very accurate to explain
reasons that prove the thinking of those authors.
