Law of God is just and holy and good and also that the law is spiritual, but the
problem is with us that we are "carnal" under the bondage of sin. The human nature
cannot keep the law of God in its fallen state. Sin always has the individual act of
transgression of the law in view, although the source of this transgression is recognized
as originating from a corrupted heart that desperately needs renewing. It is also a state
of being, observing actions we do or fail to do as we veer off course from God's
covenant and law.

The Lord, in His preface to the Doctrine and Covenants, says that because the
world has broken mine everlasting covenant the Restoration was necessary, that
mine everlasting covenant might be established. The Lord for His part promises His
children redemption from their fallen state, and the direction and the sacred ordinances
necessary for salvation and exaltation while preserving the conditions in which agency
can be exercised. The covenant children, in turn, voluntarily commit themselves to
remember and obey their Father and to accept and apply the power of the Atonement in
their lives in order to fulfill the measure of their creationto find joy in mortality and
eternal life in the world to come.

Redemption was offered to all who were willing to repent and believe in the word
of God. The story of Noah, God warned of a coming judgment. This was going to be a
world-wide punishment. Those who would repent of their sins and believe in the
warnings of Noah were welcome to board the ark before the flood waters began to fall.
After 120 years of preaching the only people who stepped onto the ark were Noah and
his family. Though there was room for many more people in the ark, only eight were

saved. Those who will believe in his word will be save not only in this world but in
everlasting life.
The Old Testament also account of the revelation of the Mosaic covenant is
recorded in Exodus. It accounts of Gods relationship with his children, which document
his love and divine intervention in history to preserve and deliver them (and at the same
time His divine wrath and punishments for disobedience) are an essential part of the
scriptures. These accounts provide a sacred history that serves as an everlasting
witness of the indebtedness of Gods children to their maker. This covenant established
the stipulations (the Law) are referred to in the well-known Decalogue (the Ten
Commandments) and establish for the children of Israel regulations for the proper
relationship of humans to God and each to his neighbor.

The words of the covenant that had been publicly read, agreed to, and deposited
became legally binding on the community and thus constituted canonized script and the
whole world. A stipulation that are well use and the basic of all the laws that govern
human relation through the course of history and evolve into more complex laws that we
have known today.
