Creative Development

Our Role play will be a TV studio with a
dressing room and box office where we
can sell tickets. We will make our own
camera to film our stories and songs.
We will also use our house to tell stories
and change it depending on the story we
are focusing on each week.
We will use objects in nursery to use as
props for our stories
We will paint and use collage to create
aliens
In music we will explore instruments and
find out how we can change the sound of
instruments.

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

We will use stories as a stimulus to find out
about different people and different ways of life
including those from other countries – Africa
We will find out about travelling to the moon
and what it might be like.
We will remember and talk about our favourite
stories from home.
We will enjoy imaginative play through our TV
studio.
We will use cameras and a camcorder to
record our stories so we can watch them. We
will read and play games on the computer such
as bananas in pyjamas and other stories.
Physical Development

In P.E. we will use our stories to move in
different ways. We will listen to and move
to different music as we retell our stories
e.g. African music in Handa’s surprise
We will continue to develop our pencil
control and some of us will be able to
Write letter like shapes or letters in our
name and some that are familiar to us.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Acorn class will continue to develop our
routines during our day. In our circle times
our themes will be Good to be me.
We will begin to work and play together to
retell and create stories in our role play
areas.
We will gain confidence when we talk and
work with other children and adults. We
will begin to take account of what others
say and do.
