Tim Perrino
Artistic Director
Cincinnati Landmark Productions
4990 Glenway Ave.
Cincinnati, OH 45238

Dear Tim:

As past participants and long-time admirers of the outstanding work that your organization has done in
the community, we are particularly excited to present an opportunity to further enhance the CYPT
experience and reputation as the premier program in the area. Our proposal is to create and fund an
ongoing scholarship for a CYPT participant(s) graduating from the group and pursuing higher education.

This correspondence outlines the scope of proposal, including objectives, organization, funding and next
steps.

OBJECTIVE

Our goal is to create a financially viable, sustainable and perpetual scholarship endowment which will
ultimately provide up to two scholarships a fiscal year to a deserving CYPT recipient(s). The number of
scholarships provided will be in direct proportion to the principal amount in the endowment fund or by
outside contributions regardless of the fund amount (see more detail in the Funding section).

ORGANIZATION

After careful deliberation and consultation, we are proposing that the most efficient and effective way
to ensure the success of this project will be to have this new endowment become part of the greater
Cincinnati Landmark Productions organization.

Organizationally, this would involve the creation of a new committee (or sub-committee) of the existing
Board of Directors to oversee the guidelines of the scholarship and monitor the endowment.

The Endowment Fund will be defined and established as a separate account from any existing
depository or investment accounts currently in use within the organization. Fund account,
management guidelines and investment policy will be recorded in a separate document and
presented separately to your Board for approval. This will naturally include asset allocation,
manager selection, risk management, cost, and responsibilities, etc. To start, however, the
recommendation is to establish an appropriate account at Cincinnati Federal Savings and Loan
while the account begins to fund.

The Scholarship criteria, application, eligibility, is defined and recorded in a set of documents
following this introductory letter.
FUNDING

The goal is to ultimately raise $25,000 to perpetually fund two $500 scholarships.

In deciding the amount to be transferred from the endowment to the scholarship(s) each year, we
looked to carefully balance two opposing claims: the current need for the scholarship versus the
obligation to preserve the endowment for future generations. While withdrawals from endowments, on
average, tend to converge at 5.5% (per the 2008 Commonfund Benchmarks Study) of the net asset value
of the endowment, we have taken a more conservative approach and targeted 4%.
As we are building the overall scholarship fund, we will to commit to pay one $500 scholarship,
regardless of the fund balance (assuming the money can be raised separate from any Cincinnati
Landmark activities). Upon reaching the goal of $25,000, a second scholarship will automatically be
made available (or will also be funded outside the overall scholarship fund).

There are specific rules regarding fundraising for these kinds of accounts. At this point, the fundraising
efforts will be confined to individual contributions via personal interaction and social media. If in the
future an opportunity presents itself to raise money through other means (i.e., programming, products,
etc) it will be incumbent upon the parties involved to present a proposal and obtain the Board of
Director's approval to ensure we are in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations and IRS codes.

NEXT S TEPS

We are interested in awarding the first scholarship as early as December 2010 at the CYPT annual
fundraiser. In order to begin to collect donations, we would like to work with your legal and financial
Board representatives to finalize the details to make this a successful operation.

CLOSING

Once again, we truly appreciate the work that you and the organization has done to support the
community. We look forward to continuing our involvement in a way that is beneficial to CYPT today
and in the future.

Sincerely,

The Big Guys

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BIG GUYS
CYPT SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Background/Overview:
Since 1984, the International Association of Big Guys (IABG) has deeply appreciated the commitment
and artistry of CYPT and the thousands of brilliant young people who have dedicated their time to
make CYPT the premier community for youth theatre in the Tri-State. While founded in secrecy, one
of the tenants of the IABG is to contribute to the success and well being of CYPT or, in other words,
"to put up or shut up". As such, the IAGB has established a scholarship fund to further the
educational pursuits of deserving CYPT members. Depending on funding available, two scholarships
will be awarded:
One $500 scholarship for continuing education in a artistic discipline
One $500 scholarship for continuing education in a non-artistic discipline

In the event that the IABG scholarship fund can't support two scholarships, one scholarship will be
awarded to the best overall applicant regardless of academic pursuit.

Eligibility/Requirements:

Must be a member of CYPT in good standing.

Must already be enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate program or in a compatible artistic
educational program.
Can only have received the scholarship one time previously (yes, that means you can be awarded
a scholarship twice in your lifetime).
Must complete and submit the scholarship application and any supporting documents prior to
closing night of the current summer's show.

Presentation/Recognition:
The scholarship(s) will be awarded and presented in December each year at the annual CYPT reunion
show or at another appropriate public occasion.

The scholarship recipient(s) will also be extended full membership into the International Association
of Big Guys with all corresponding rights and privileges.

CYPT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM
Applicant ID Number: (To be filled in by CYPT Scholarship Representative)

The applicant’s basic information will only appear on this cover sheet. A unique Applicant ID Number
will be placed on this cover page and on the member’s scholarship application form that is attached.
Before the scholarship form is given to the evaluators, this cover sheet, with all the personal
information it contains, will be removed.
This has two significant implications for you, the scholarship applicant:
1. Since our evaluators don’t want to be swayed by any personal knowledge that they may have
of the member whose form is being judged, this will help them remain unbiased.
2. The evaluators will not be able to fill in any items omitted by you that their personal
knowledge would have provided. For instance, if you forgot to write down that you worked at
the CYPT car wash, no one will be able to fill that in for you. Your scholarship form will have
to stand on its own.
