established in the year 2000 is committed to pursue its
objective of providing quality education in the field of
Information Technology. At present CITE is offering courses
on Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of
Information Technology (BIT), and Bachelor of Computer
Engineering (B.E. Comp.), Bachelor of Electronics &
Communication Engineering, Bachelor of Business
Adminstration (BBA) striving for excellence in its academic
pursuit, CITE intends to carry out research and promotional
activities for the growth and dissemination of knowledge and
there by develop itself as an important IT institution of the
country.
The entry into CITEs program is usually at an age when
students are maturing and making critical decision about the
career they would like to pursue in their future life. It is the
period when they begin to form attitudes, discover their
potentials and seek suitable opportunities. The basic objective
of CITEs program is to ensure that student develop a very
strong foundation in their chosen area of study and preparing
them to build a strong conceptual base and its practical
application, in a real life situation. CITE as an institution is
also guided by high professional ethics that place the students
at the center of learning process and inculcates high moral
standard.
At CITE, we also encourage student to take active participation
in various activities which is essential to build skills that are
necessary to develop their personalities into more mature,
responsible and innovative individual, who will act as a

Computers have become ubiquitous in every phase of our working
lives, and computer Engineering students, upon graduation, have
career anywhere there are computers. Bachelor in Computer
Engineering courses are designed to prepare students for successful
career in hard core Computer Engineering field, and to nurture in
them the skill, required for professional development. The course is
structured to provide a thorough foundation in the design,
implementation, and application of computer system and integrate
the knowledge from different course and apply them to engineering.

Bachelor of Engineering
(Electronics and Communication)
The need for increasingly faster and more sophisticated methods of
handling information poses a major challenge to the electronics and
communication engineers. It includes new materials, devices, circuits,
systems, and networks which are needed to build the advanced
communication and information-handling systems. Previous innovations
in electronics and communication engineering have had a dramatic
impact on the way in which we work and live: the transistor, integrated
circuits, computers, radio and television, satellite transmission systems,
lasers, fiber optic transmission systems, and medical electronics have
all become parts of our life.

Technology (BIT)
Apart from providing a rigorous foundation in the
concepts of Computer Science and Information
Technology, the Bachelor in Information Technology
(BIT) degree equips the student with the capability
of easily adapting to an ever-changing technology
through an appropriate combination of project
work and industrial training. This four-year (8
semesters) curriculum is designed to include a
balanced foundation of courses of study, assignments
and project works.

Application (BCA)
The Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) focuses
on building the knowledge and skill base of the
students required to expolre and integrate the IT
resources into modern Business environment. This
three year (six semester) programme, has been
developed at a time when the supply of quality
management information is assuming increasing
importance for decision makers in today's
competitive business environment. The course
provides sound understanding of the design,
development and implementation of the business
information system. This technological core involves
learning, hands-on use of both hardware and
software components, and their application.

The library, consists of sufficient collection of all required
textbooks, reference materials, technical journals,
newspapers and magazines, CITE maintains a digital
online library system (DOLS), which provides direct access
to many web-based reference sources. The DLOS can be
accessed through all college client machines.

BCA Honors

Research And Development

The program is designed for student seeking a


broad and deep knowledge of software development
and its application in modern organization. The
course focuses heavily on the requirement that is
needed for Post Graduate Level study in Computer
Application. Students who obtain this degree are
expected to qualify to do significant development
works in the IT industry or other important IT
application areas. The emphasis of this program
is to develop a system that is required to meet the
challenges of Modern Business Enterprises.

The college has been helping the students to develop their overall
personality by organizing various training programmes from time to
time. In the past, training such as leadership building, photography,
Communication and Facilitation, Project Formulation and Presentation
were conducted. In addition, study tours/visits have also been organized.

CIT College is participating in the ICT
development work in rural area of Nepal. Since
2004 it is coordinating with the E-Network
Research and Development (ENRD) for promoting
ICT in rural and urban areas. Students of CIT
are participating as a volunteer in the installation
of Wireless network in rural area of Nepal.
Students of CIT have visited the Nepal wireless
Networking project for extending wireless
Network. They stay in the project for a month
and did a lot of ICT related activities. The BCA
honors students have done research and
development activities by the help of ENRD.

Internship for
Student
CITE academic programs are absolutely job
oriented. It has been our directional principle
that graduation has to lead students in to a
respectable job. In the process and as a practice
of study, we send our students to government
offices, financial institutions, banks, IT companies,
multinational companies, corporate houses,
NGOs and INGOs for internship on the job

Being a CITian, it's my great pleasure to visit rural areas of Nepal
for my research work intitled "Wireless Networking in Rural Areas
of Myagdi District of Nepal". The way of consulting of CIT
management with other agencies is quite impressive. I was there
for a month long and gain real experience of working and studying
with rural community about Information Technology. During the
period, "Basic Computer Fundamental Training" and "Computer
Hardware for Rural Community" was very productive, people from
rural community got real pleasure of E-mail and Internet which is
provided by Nepal Wireless Networking Project.

Student Support

At CITE, the students actively take part in various social


welfare activities, such as setting up Computer/IT unit and
create the necessary environment; disseminating awareness
about IT and its emerging importance among the public. As
a part to create public awareness the students spent a month
with E-network Research and Development (ENRD) providing
Network Training in Myagdi, Sankhu , Nuwakot and many
other parts of the country.

To help the students and to ensure that their time at the college
is productive as well as enjoyable, there is a council composed
of staffs and students to give top priority to student interests.

Beyond Course
In addition to the courses prescribed by the University, CITE
regularly conducts extra courses and training in various
updated technologies.

Besides these, students enthusiasm was highly appraised


for their contribution by organizing blood donation
programmes by themselves.

The Tech Suite provides an opportunity to the students to work


in groups, using utilities and a variety of other high-tech
equipment. Simulation of a real time environment, it builds
up the confidence to students and face potential challenges
of their future jobs.

Together CITians

The College supports the students in publishing a monthly


newsletter and an annual Magazine, CITians Voice, student
Council, which has provided the students a source for sharing
their views and experiences about their study.

College offers accommodation and transportation facilities


to its students. It has made arrangements with a few selfcatering accommodations, which can be shared by groups
of students coming from outside Kathmandu. Medical checkup
and counseling are provided, in addition to emergency
services. The spacious cafeteria in the college premises offers
wide selection of healthy and hygienic food and soft drinks
throughout day.

Activities
Besides regular classes, CITE also conducts various activities
so as to enhance the students innate capabilities. Students
are encouraged as well as given platform to perform their
inborn talents through various competitive programmes. They
take part in different games; conducts musical programmes,
take part in inter-college competitions related to literature,
arts, games and many other.

Every student will be assigned a tutor, who will maintain
regular contacts with students to ensure that things are going
on well. The student support services will offer help and advice
to students on a wide range of problems from personal,
emotional worries to practical problems.

CITians worked with foreign volunteers in Nepal Wireless


Networking Project (NWP). During a month field work in
project area, CITians installed wireless Network (Wi-Fi) in
Khopra Lake, located at an altitude of 3400 meter from sea
level. CITians provided computer hardware / networking and
basic computer training to the villagers in four different villages
of Kaski and Maygdi district. Besides, CITians are participating
in ICT based research & development activities with E-Network
Research & Development (ENRD).

The students of CITE have formed a body to represent


themselves and to encourage active participation of all
students in every co-curricular activities of the college. It also
helps students in different kinds of assistance.

In addition, up-to-date records of appropriate vacancies and

We have already proved our worth with abundant placement


of CITE graduates for lucrative jobs inside the country and
abroad. Our products are placed in rewarding positions in
NGOs/INGOs, Government offices, Banks and Educational

Multinational Companies etc. Some of them are self-employed
