Professional Experiences:
August 2014 December 2014 Wahiawa General Hospital
Function in the role as a novice registered nurse, under RN preceptor supervision, caring for the
geriatric population in a long term care setting. I was able to perform skills such as physical
assessments, medication administration, and G-Tube feedings. This clinical rotation developed a
solid foundation for future clinical rotations.
January 2015- May 2015 Queens Medical Center (Med Surg I)
In my second semester I had my clinical rotation in the acute care setting. I was able to refine
skills I have learned while implementing new skills such as injections and IV piggy backs. I
learned the importance of being organized and efficient in an acute care setting.

August 2015 October 2015 Queens Medical Center (Obstetrics)


In my third semester I was exposed to maternity nursing. I was able to care for patients in the
labor and delivery room, post-partum, as well as the nursery. Post-partum care, in particular,
developed my ability to provide quality patient education.
October 2015 December 2015 Tripler Army Medical Center (Pediatrics)
The second half of the third semester I was able to experience pediatric nursing on the pediatric
ward, the immunization clinic, as well as the PICU and pediatric sedation. I learned about the
subtle, yet crucial, differences when caring for children along with the importance of growth and
development.
January 2016 March 2016 Queens Medical Center (Mental Health)
I was able to incorporate therapeutic communication skills and perform Mental Status
Evaluations on adult and adolescent patients with mental illnesses. This clinical rotation
increased my awareness of mental illnesses. I was able to learn about appropriate methods of
handling and providing care for these patients in a professional manner as a nurse.
March 2016- April 2016 Straub Hospital (Med-Surg II)
In my final clinical rotation, I am able to integrate all that I have learned to work as an efficient,
highly functioning nurse caring for three to four patients under the supervision of my clinical
instructor. By modifying my time management skills, I was able to performing procedures and
apply critical thinking skills to multiple patients in a safe manner.
