DISTRIBUTE your 10 character points to the MIND BODY and SPIRIT areas.
These are your PRIMARY stats used for offense. (e.g.: 2+7+1)
*TIP: You should probably have at least ONE point in each area.
TOTAL the 2 related numbers into each of the 3 triangular areas. These are
your DERIVED stats used for defense. (e.g.: 2+7=9)
Add 1 bonus point to the triangular area with the highest number. This is your
SPECIALTY stat. (e.g.: 9+1=10)

All rolls are 2D6.


Primary Stats are used to do things. Secondary Stats are used to stop things
from happening to your character.
Thus, any opposed character check is based on the Primary Stat VS. the
appropriate Derived Stat. (e.g.: A player character hits someone first test
BODY to hit, then the defender tests STAMINA to try to block/ignore it.)
Any attempted action (not against another character) is rolled against the
related stat itself (determined by the gm) with 2d6. As long as you roll under
your stat you succeed at whatever you were trying to do.
Stats do not change or reduce. If the story calls for a character to be removed
(knocked out, dead, etc.) roleplay it out.

GROUP MECHANICS VARIANT:


1) GM rolls all dice rolls.
2) Every (CLASS) with at least a (ROLL) in (TRAIT) succeeds in (ACTION)

AN OUT OF THIS WORLD ALIENS SCENARIO


(Originally for teaching open RPG design in the classroom)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) FOLLOW the steps on the character sheet to CREATE your character
(IMPORTANT! -- WAIT UNTIL #1 IS DONE FOR EVERYONE!)
2) DETERMINE CHARACTER CLASSES (TYPES).
Say: Your highest DERIVED STAT is your CHARACTER TYPE as follows:
a. PSYCHE ALIEN PRISONER
b. STAMINA HUMAN TROOPER
c. WILLPOWER HUMAN SCIENTIST
3) In larger groups, the person with the single highest DERIVED STAT is the
leader of that CHARACTER TYPE
4) Anyone with their highest DERIVED STAT as a 6-7 is a child/new recruit of
that TYPE and treated as such.

POSSIBLE PC STATS:
MEN IN BLACK: B8,M1,S2
ALIEN LEADER: B1,M8, S8
CIVILIANS: B5, M1, S2
A RIVAL ALIEN RACE:
B10, M10, S10

AREA 42 SETTING: (GM reads this aloud to the players)


You are at work in a secret government building known as Area 42, your mission
being to study a group of alien prisoners. Unless, of course you ARE one of the
aliens, currently being held behind a forcefield in a holding cell...

CLASS:
Mind/Body You are a Scientist (with a portable Mind Computer)
Body/Spirit You are a Soldier (with a Body Gun)
Spirit/Mind You are an Alien (prisoner with Spirit mental powers)

STORY POSSIBILITIES:
Other than the setup, there is no specific plot or action that must occur but there
should be resolution at the end of the time. It is up to you, the Game Master (GM) to
decide what should happen in a given moment to cause conflict using a Yes, and
principle. Go crazy! No single scene should last more than a few minutes especially
towards the end. If the story seems to be going nowhere then choose one of these
things as appropriate:

o An explosion rocks the facility


(Spirit to identify source = Mother Ship!)
o A gas leak has begun (Computers to stop it)
o Take gas damage (Stamina to defend against it)
o Steal a Helicopter (Mind to fly it)
o Mutate in Laboratory (Mind to use the machines)
o UFO (Spirit to mind meld it)
o Computers (Mind to use them)
o Anti-Air Guns (Body to fire)
o Base Self Destruct (Mind to Arm)

A MYTHICAL MONSTER EGYPTIAN SCENARIO


(Originally a cooperation exercise for the classroom)
INSTRUCTIONS:

6) DETERMINE PLAYER RACES.
Say: Your highest DERIVED STAT is your race as follows:
a. PSYCHE - VAMPIRE
b. STAMINA MUMMY
c. WILLPOWER WEREWOLF
7) In larger groups, the person with the single highest DERIVED STAT is the
leader of that race
8) Anyone with their highest DERIVED STAT as a 6-7 is a child of that race and
treated as such.

SCENARIO: (GM reads this aloud to the players)


1) IT IS ANCIENT EGYPT. YOU MONSTERS HAVE BEEN SUMMONED BY THE
PHAROAHS DYING WISH THROUGH AN ANCIENT MAGICAL ARTIFACT. HIS
ONE DESIRE IS FOR ETERNAL LIFE. YOU STAND IN THE ROYAL
ANTICHAMBER OF THE PALACE. GUARDS STAND BETWEEN THE PILLARS
AND BLOCK THE DOORS GUARDING THE PHARAOH
2) EACH RACE HAS BROUGHT A GIFT TO THE PHARAOH.
a. VAMPIRES: FINE BLACK SILKEN SHROUDS
b. MUMMIES: WRAPPINGS AND FUNERARY SPICES
c. WEREWOLVES: (NORMAL) PUPPIES!
3) EACH RACE HAS A DESIRE THAT BURNS WITHIN YOU. IT IS YOUR PRICE
FOR COOPERATION.
a. VAMPIRES: SUNSCREEN!
b. MUMMIES: YOUR OLD GUTS (CANOPIC JARS)
c. WEREWOLVES: FANCY GROOMING SUPPLIES
STORY:
Other than the setup, there is no specific plot or action that must occur but there
should be resolution at the end of the time allotted (30-45 min.). It is up to you, the
Game Master (GM) to decide what should happen in a given moment to cause
conflict if the major conflict is not enough (i.e. only one race will get its reward if it is
picked by the pharaoh as the solution to immortality). Go crazy! No single scene
should last more than a few minutes especially towards the end. If the story seems
to be going nowhere then choose one of these things as appropriate:

A human slave runs into the room and dies. He is clutching an important

One of the Egyptian gods appears in a cloud of smoke and lightning bolt
and bellows STOP!
The Pharaoh gets angry with their negotiating and arguing and sends in
slaves to fight them!
The Pharaoh decides that ALL the (werewolf/vampire/mummy) children
must be saved!
The ancient artifact glows and sparks another wish is available!
