Brief Project Overview

Uttam Galva Metallics Limited is expanding existing steel

plant to 1.5 Mtpy along with waste gas CPP (17 MW) at
Wardha, Maharastra. MECON will prepare EIA/EMP report
based on Techno-economic feasibility report being prepared
by MECON, Bangalore. The base line data and SODAR
data is supplied by the client based on the approved TOR.
The Project Involves the following activities:

Requirement of Deliverables
and Project Objectives

Secondary data collection including ecological, socioeconomic & hydrological study

Preparation of draft EIA / EMP report
Assisting UGML in public hearing
Preparation of final EIA / EMP report
Presentation of EIA/EMP report to MOE&F

Details of Deliverables are:

Zero date will be considered from the date of receipt of
down payment or kick-off meeting whichever is later.

Submission of Draft EIA/EMP report along with

executive summary in five copies within six weeks after
completion of one full season monitoring -- expected
tentatively by 15th July 2013.
Submission of final EIA/EMP report along with executive
summary in 20 copies after incorporating all comments
(from client) within two weeks from date of receiving
comments from client on draft report -- expected
tentatively by 30th July 2013.
Public hearing (assistance) by 7th September, 2013
Submission of final EIA/EMP report along with executive
summary in 15 copies after incorporating all comments
(from client, Public comments & SPCB comments) within
four weeks from date of public hearing & receiving
comments from SPCB and client on draft report -expected tentatively by 7th October,2013.
The above time schedule assumes that all inputs / data /
reports / other information as required from client shall
be made available by client are duly fulfilled in time &
Time period required by statutory authorities for different
interfaces of the Environmental clearance of the project.
Presentation of EIA/EMP report to MOE&F & Grant of
Environmental Clearance by 7th Nov. 2013

Rehabilitation & Resettlement Plan.

Detailed Engineering of measures suggested in EMP.
Any services not specifically mentioned in the scope of
services of MECON in the work order.

Furnish latest DPR/FR for the proposed steel plant as a

whole and individual major shop, layout of plant, project
report, proposed plant water balance, etc as required for
the EIA/EMP study report.
Carry out liaison work with concerned Government
agencies

Project Progress Reporting : Specimen format is enclosed as Annexure 2

Periodicity of reporting is once after completion of each deliverables as given in section
Requirement of Deliverables and Project Objectives" of this document. The progress report
format will be updated once after achieving each deliverable and will be sent to Customer in the
prescribed format (Annexure 2).

Broad Resource Planning

Environmental Engineering section has Engineers/scientists having adequate qualification and
expertise to execute the project.
However, outsourcing has been planned in the following areas:
1. Colour photocopying of drawing and report.
2. Upper Air Data & Collection of IMD Data if required.
