MOTHER’S DAY LITANY Leader: We look to God, in whose image we are created, People: And we give Him thanks for mothers who have nurtured and cared for us. Leader: We look to Christ who gave himself up for us, who sacrificed himself and showed us the full extent of his love. People: And we give thanks for mothers and grandmothers, who have given to us and sacrificed for us, that we might become what God has intended and that we might understand the God of love. Leader: We look to the Spirit who sustains us and guides us, who nourishes and empowers us. People: And we give thanks for teachers and mentors, aunts and friends and care givers who have helped guide and strengthen us. Leader: We remember those who have lost mothers and special people in their lives. People: We pray for the peace of Christ, the hope of the heavenward call and the freedom to fully grieve. Leader: We remember those who’ve longed for a child but that longing remains unfulfilled. People: We pray that the body of Christ will be the family that goes beyond biology and stretches into the greater family of the heavenly fellowship of eternity. Leader: We remember those who have been hurt, and today the memories of home are not bright ones. People: We pray that the shalom and wholeness that comes from God above might bring healing and help for this day and the days to come. Leader: We remember those who have adopted children both legally and informally. People: We pray that the love that comes from above and transcends even biology, might fully exalt you O God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All: May we bless our families that the blessings might overflow to others, and that you, O God, might be blessed and praised, both now and forevermore. Amen. SERMON - The Resurrection of the Body - REALLY!” PRAYER OF BLESSING THE RESPONSE TO GOD OFFERING OFFERTORY ANTHEM - “Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus)” - Chris Rice Weak and wounded sinner. . Lost and left to die, O, raise your head, for love is passing by. Come to Jesus, Come to Jesus, Come to Jesus and live! Now your burden's lifted and carried far away and precious blood has washed away the stain, so, sing to Jesus, sing to Jesus, sing to Jesus and live! And like a newborn baby, don't be afraid to crawl and remember when you walk, sometimes we fall...so, fall on Jesus, fall on Jesus, fall on Jesus and live! Sometimes the way is lonely and steep and filled with pain. So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then cry to Jesus, cry to Jesus, cry to Jesus and live! O, and when the love spills over and music fills the night and when you can't contain your joy inside, then dance for Jesus, dance for Jesus, dance for Jesus and live! And with your final heartbeat, kiss the world goodbye, then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side, and fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus and live!

Education Opportunities For the week of May 9, 2010

CALLING ALL QUESTIONS
“CALLING ALL QUESTIONS” IS A CLASS for anyone who might be interested in asking questions about the Christian faith. We recognize that a safe and fun place to be able to ask ‘any question’ can be an important step as someone is thinking about faith and the claims of Jesus, or maybe just getting ‘grounded’ in the basics. We will meet during the Sunday School hour for about six weeks starting this morning in the conference room. Friends, neighbors, relatives are welcome as well.

CHILDREN
Parents, To assist us in serving you and your child’s best interest and safety during the times that you have entrusted them to our children’s ministry leaders we ask that each week a parent or designated adult register/sign in your child and pick up him/her at the end of class. There will be a check in sheet at the entry point of each classroom. Also, Please note the time changes!
