ABSTRACT

The study aimed to determine the Influence of Study Habits to the


Academic Performance of First Year Bachelor of Elementary Education
Students at Iloilo Science and Technology University during First
Semester, Academic Year 2014-2015. The research design used was
the Post-test only design because this study was non - experimental.
The total population was 136 students, out of which; a sample size of
30 respondents was drawn. Systematic sampling was used and the
researchers chose the section A of Bachelor of Elementary Education to
represent the total population. The study employed a self-administered
questionnaire.The statistical tools employed in this study were;
Frequency Count and Percentages to describe the profile of

respondents when group according to sex, income of the parents, birth
order, library use and place of residence while in school; Means and
Standard Deviations to describe the study habits and academic
performances of first year as a whole or group according to sex,
income of the parents, birth order, library use and place of residence
while in school; Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to determine the
significant difference between the study habits and academic
performance of first year Bachelor of Elementary Education
students.All statistical computations were computer- processed
through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS)software, all
set at 0.05 level of significance.
