Quehaceres (Chores) Oral Presentation

100 points

Prepare a 1-2 minute oral (you speak) presentation in Spanish featuring vocabulary with household chores. The presentation can
be videotaped, audiotaped, or presented in person during class. Videotaped and audiotaped presentations must be appropriate for
classroom viewing. Sometimes students choose videotaped or audiotaped presentations because they believe that it will be easier
to read the script. (Many) points will be deducted if it is obvious that you are reading a script and/or that you have used a
translator to write your script. If you decide to do your presentation in class you may look at 10 words written on the board to help
you remember what you want to say.
The structure presentation may be very simple. You should use material that we are learning in class or that you have learned in
the past to create a presentation that is appropriate and interesting. Nobody wants to watch you struggle through complicated
sentences that even you do not understand. Use vocabulary that your classmates have access to!
The presentation can be individual or with a partner. If you decide to work with a partner, both must have relatively equal
speaking parts. Here are some ideas for presentations. If you think of something else, please check with the teacher first.
A skit in which a parent tells her/his children about chores to do around the house.
A skit in which a supervisor tells an employee about cleaning chores to do at a business.
A commercial for a cleaning service.
A commercial for a cleaning device.
A commercial for a cleaning product.
A tour of your home in which you describe
chores that you do or that others in your family do.
Grades:
The presentation will be worth 100 points. All grades will be individual grades. Students who are not prepared with a video or
audio presentation will be expected to present in class in person even if they forgot or lost their presentation or had technical
difficuties. All presentations must be complete before December 18 and students must be ready on the day they are assigned to
present.
