Mission: The study of music plays many important roles in the development of a
child. From a very young age, when exposure to music helps to wire the brain for
learning, to older students who develop character, poise, self-confidence, and

personal responsibility through their study of it. Music is a uniquely human
endeavor that enriches our lives at every stage of development. My goal is to
make music accessible to all of my students by tailoring my methods to their
unique needs.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Sept. 2008-present: Director of Instrumental Music at Hebron Academy. Duties
include directing school orchestra, jazz band, and middle school band. Teaching
music theory, digital recording, conducting pit orchestra for the school musical,
coaching the schools string quartet, student advising, and overseeing the after
school music program.
Sept. 2004-2010: Private string teaching studio of approximately 15-20 students.
Taught weekly private lessons as well as coached small ensembles.
Spring Semester 2007: Substitute double bass instructor for University of
Southern Maine. Taught both classical and jazz technique to the double bass
students at the university.
May 2006- June 2007: String Instructor for Portland Conservatory of Music.
Private instrumental instruction.
Sept. 2001- May 2003: String instructor for University of Louisville Preparatory

setting focusing on preparing students for the transition to music study at the
