Mongolia wants to have financing from AIIB for mega-projects
Prime Minister of Mongolia, Ch.Saikhanbileg met Jin Liqun, the AIIB President on
June 8th, 2016, in Ulaanbaatar. They touched upon issues of cooperation
opportunities for Mongolia with the AIIB. The Prime Minister pointed out that
Mongolia wants to benefit from financing from the AIIB for the TavantolgoiGashuunsukhait 267 km railway, railways connecting between Russia and China
as well as funding for the roads under operation.

Xanadu Mines: Latest drilling results underpin significant gold discovery
at Oyut Ulaan
Xanadu Mines Ltd (ASX: XAM) announced that it has received the first assay
results from diamond drilling targeting recently discovered shallow gold
mineralisation from its 90% owned Oyut Ulaan copper-gold project, 420km
southeast of Ulaanbaatar. Recent exploration has discovered at least four areas of
gold mineralisation that occur within a prospective area of mineralisation that is
4.5km long and 300m wide.

Mongolia Jan.-Apr. Inbound FDI Rises to $225.4m
Inbound foreign direct investment was US$225.4 million in the first four months
of 2016 vs. -US$101.7 million a year earlier, according to data released by central
bank. Mongolia had US$59 million of FDI In Apr. vs. -US$7.6 million in Apr, 2015.
YTD current-account surplus at end-Apr. was US$86.6 million vs. deficit of
US$158.5 million in Apr, 2015.

Asia-Europe Finance Ministers Meeting commences today

The 12th Asia-Europe Finance Ministers Meeting (FiNMM12) is taking place in
Ulaanbaatar on June 9-10. The ASEM Finance Ministers' Meeting is an integral
part of the Asia-Europe connectivity, and the meeting aims to facilitate dialogues
and common interests of the two regions. The high-level meeting will cover the
following areas of Macroeconomic Developments and Prospects in Asia and
Europe, Financial Stability at Regional and Global Level: Experiences from Asia
and Europe and Connectivity between Asia and Europe.

World news
Global Growth Forecast Again Revised Lower to 2.4%
The World Bank is downgrading its 2016 global growth forecast to 2.4% from the
2.9% pace projected in January. The move is due to sluggish growth in advanced
economies, stubbornly low commodity prices, weak global trade, and diminishing
capital flows. According to the latest update of its Global Economic Prospects
report, commodity-exporting emerging market and developing economies have
struggled to adapt to lower prices for oil and other key commodities, and this
accounts for 40% of the downward revision.

China Exports Stabilize as Imports Hint at Improving Demand

Chinas exports stabilized in May, with a weakening currency giving some support
to growth in the worlds biggest trading nation, while imports signaled
improvement in domestic demand. Overseas shipments fell 4.1 percent in dollar
terms from a year earlier, while imports slipped 0.4 percent -- the smallest drop
since late 2014 -- to leave a trade surplus of $50 billion. Reflecting a weaker
yuan, both exports and imports fared better when measured in local currency
terms. Stocks pared losses in Shanghai.
