Benjamin Harlan Come, we that love the Lord, and let our joys be known; join in a song with sweet accord, and thus surround the throne! Marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion, we’re marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God! Let those refuse to sing who never knew our God; but children of the heav’nly King, may speak their joys abroad! We’re marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion, we’re marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God! Then let our songs abound, and ev’ry tear be dry; we’re marching through Immanuel’s ground, to fairer worlds on high! We’re marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion, we’re marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God!

OUR CHURCH FAMILY
- Livingstone KAREN SCHRA has been having a lot of leg and back pain due to stenosis of the spine. She had a number of injections at the pain clinic on Monday. Pray that the injections give her relief from the pain. TODD & RACHEL BILLINGS are happy to announce that there will be a new member joining the family of First Church in the next several months: they are adopting a daughter from Ethiopia. Netsanet, or "Neti" (meaning "freedom") was born on September 13, 2009, and she was successfully matched with the Billings at a recent court hearing in Ethiopia. Todd and Rachel expect to travel to Ethiopia in the next month or two to pick up Neti and bring her home. They will only receive about a week's notice before travel, but they are excited that they are at this late stage in a multi-year adoption process. Please join with them in praying for Neti's safety and care while they await the final adoption placement. Our sympathy to JIM & SALLY KLEIS and the extended Meulenbelt, Kleis and Larson families in the death of AL KLEIS on Sunday, May 16. FIRST, HE, AS WELL AS THE FATHER AND THE SON, IS ETERNAL GOD. SECOND, HE HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME PERSONALLY, SO THAT, BY TRUE FAITH, HE MAKES ME SHARE IN CHRIST AND ALL HIS BLESSINGS, COMFORTS ME, AND REMAINS WITH ME FOREVER. PRAYER OF CONFESSION GRACIOUS GOD, YOU HAVE GIVEN US THE LAW OF MOSES AND THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS TO DIRECT US IN THE WAY OF LIFE. YOU OFFER US YOUR HOLY SPIRIT SO THAT WE CAN BE BORN TO NEW LIFE AS YOUR CHILDREN. YET, O GOD, WE CONFESS THAT WRONG WAYS HAVE A STRONG ATTRACTION AND THAT WE OFTEN SUCCUMB TO THEIR LURE. GIVE US THE VISION AND COURAGE TO CHOOSE AND NURTURE LIFE AND LIVE BY THE POWER OF YOUR HOLY SPIRIT, THAT WE MAY RECEIVE YOUR BLESSING. AMEN. - Richard Gerig
