-SIGNALS AND SYSTEMS- Hello guys, today I am goin g to tell you about a a subject which is extremely practiceoriented, has

so many levels and is so much fun to deal with. SnS will require a very honest hard work from you, and
the more number of VARIATIONS u practice, the better u get. INTRODUCTION-VERY IMP- Most no of questions
come from the starting chapters of SnS. These chapters deal with various types of signals, like step, ramp, parabolic
etc. Which u probably know by now, but it has also got some really important stuff Like- a) ENERGY & POWER
SIGNALS- Learn to know what are these, differences between them and of course, finding the energy and power for
both continuous and discrete signals. Practice as many numericals as you can lay ur hand on and REMEMBER the
process, better write it down. b) LTI systems- V. IMP. The words linear, time invariant, memory, stability and causality
should be very clear to you. Read extensively to know what these terms truly mean, both graphically and formulacally. Read Opprenheim for this portion. Practice finding if a system is linear, causal, memoryless, etc. 2) Continuous
time systems- Convolution is most important here. Learn to solve both graphically and formula wise. No need to read
auto correlations or circular convolutions. Also, FINDING TIME PERIOD of composite signals is a good topic.
Remember that this process is not same for continuous and discrete systems. 3) Discrete time systems- Convolution
and finding time periods is mostly important. Learn any one method of convolution. I suggest you learn to correlate
these with continuous systems so that it becomes easier. 4) Fourier series- IMPORTANT. It needs to be cleared
carefully. Start solving fro very basic signals like square waveforms and gradually move up. Know about various forms
of Fourier series, trigonometric, cosine and exponential. See if u can find a relation between them. For exponential
series, its very important that you learnt thee coefficients part, along with amplitude and phase spectrum. MOST
STUDENTS LEAVE THIS PART. DON'T. Fourier transform- popular misconception that this is very Important...its
actually Isnt.See made easy previous years book, there are only a few questions from this topic. Just learn the duality
topic carefully and go through the rest of the chapter once. Laplace transform- Aah, good old Laplace. It has been
with you for maths, control and now signals. Enjoy the topic, start from RO, what it actually means proceed to
bidirectional and unidirectional signals. REMEMBER THAT INVERSE LAPLACE Is applicable for unidirectional
systems only. Practice some questions of ROC. Z-TRANSFORM- MODERN HOT FAVOURITE... in recent years this
topic can be viewed quite a lot in the questions. Its ezsy ...just some ROC related problems very similar to discrete
Fourier transform, so don't leave it. Read the relation between ROC of Laplace and Z transform. Sampling-Nyquist
rate and Nyquist frequency are the only topics needed here . SO GUYS, THAT'S ALL about SNS. IT will take about
20 days to complete, then make sure u complete kanodia and previous years book. See ya!!!#all_men_must_die (this
is for all the G
