11-b. A candidate for mayor in a large city believes that he appeals to at least 10% more
of the women voters than the men voters. He hires the services of poll taking organization,
and they find that 62 out of 100 woman interviewed support the candidate, and 69 0f 150
men support him. At the 0.05 significance level, test the candidates belief.
11-c Also construct 99% confidence interval for the difference in proportions.
12-a Let X1,X2, , Xn be a random sample from a normal population with parameters

(i) , when population variance 2 is known, (ii) 2, when population mean is known, (iii)
and 2 simultaneously.

foods.
13-b. Construct 90% confidence interval when two samples are independent and when
the same set of eight sheep were used in both the foods in question 13-a.

14-a A random sample of 28 pairs from a bivariate normal population showed a

coefficient in the population is 0.5?

economics(X2) and intelligence tests(X3). For a random samples of 60 students, the
multiple correlation coefficient Ry.123 was found to be 0.582. Test the hypothesis that the
multiple correlation coefficient in the population is zero. Let =0.05.

large that the probability will be 95% that the sample mean will not differ from the true
mean by more than 25% of the S.D. How large a sample be taken if the sampling is done
