DAY 02 - ARRIVE IN XIAN We arrive in Xian, the ancient capital of China and home of one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world - the Terracotta Warriors. Upon arrival, we will be welcomed at the airport and escorted to our hotel for check-in. DAY 03 - XIAN Today you’ll experience one of the true wonders of ancient China when you visit the famous Terracotta Warriors near Xian. Housed in three underground vaults, some 7,000 figures of warriors and their horses originally made more than 2,000 years ago are on display. The trip will also take in the Circle Vision documentary on the history of the site, including a pair of bronze chariots and horses. After the spectacle of the warriors you’ll be taken to see the Shaanxi Provincial Historical Museum, China’s most renowned. In the evening, there’s a fabulous Dumpling Banquet followed by an entertaining Tang Dynasty Show. (AB/L/D) DAY 04 - XIAN/BEIJING After breakfast, tour the ancient city wall, built in the Ming Dynasty on the original foundations of the Tang Forbidden City wall. Next, board our flight to Beijing, the capital city of the People’s Republic of China. Upon arrival, check-in to our hotel. Tonight, take advantage of your free time to explore Beijing’s bustling night market. (AB) DAY 05 - BEIJING This morning, we walk through the vast Tiananmen Square to the magnificent Forbidden City, which was home to the Ming and Qing dynasties for over 500 years. After lunch, visit the exquisite Imperial Summer Palace, a de facto museum of China's classical architecture with an immense collection of treasures and cultural artifacts. Afterwards, tour the sacred Temple of Heaven, once used to pray for good harvest. (AB/L)

DAY 06 - BEIJING
Enjoy our journey to one of the enormous eight wonders of the world, the astounding Great Wall, a miracle of human achievement begun some 2,000 years ago reaching 4,500 miles from the mountains of Korea to the Gobi dessert. This afternoon, ride on a pedal-powered cab tour through Beijing’s traditional courtyard neighborhoods where old traditions remain very much alive. We will get a chance to visit the home of a local resident and a local school (when in session). In the evening, consider our OPTIONAL Beijing Duck Dinner.
