7th Foundation Anniversary of the Diocese of Novaliches

Circular 2009-23

To:

All Parish Priests and Its PPC, All Local Religious Superiors,
and All Benefactors,

We are pleased to invite you to take part in the 7th Foundation

Anniversary of the Diocese of Novaliches on 7 December 2009,
Monday. This will be marked by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 6
oclock in the evening at Good Shepherd Cathedral. It will be followed by
a simple Dinner at 7 oclock at the Parish Hall. On this occasion, we remember in
gratitude the manifold blessings we have received from God from the time of our
establishment. We recall both the joys and excitement of being constituted as a
new diocese and also the initial setbacks and difficulties we have gone through.
We are thankful to the Spirit for guiding us through difficult decisions which
made us a diocese stronger through these youthful years.
Initially, we have planned a fund-raising dinner to commemorate this
event. However, after the destruction caused by Typhoon Ondoy, the Bishop
and the Clergy have decided to hold it in keeping with the times. In sensitivity to
our needy brethren, we have toned down our celebration and instead make use of
this opportunity to pray, reflect and share regarding the lessons of this recent
calamity. We have invited representatives from affected areas in our Diocese to
join us for the Mass and to share their experiences during the program. Some
members of the Clergy will report on the outcome of our Diocesan Relief
Operations and volunteers will tell us on how the relief were distributed. We
hope that through this program, we will be enlightened about what happened and
be better equipped to respond in the future.
Again, please honor us with your presence. Let us celebrate Gods
goodness seen in the many selfless people in Novaliches who have responded to
our call for aid, even before the announcements were made in the parishes. If
there is some light in the midst of darkness, I can say that your generous hearts
shine the brightest.

My fervent prayer is that God, whose generosity can never be outdone,

reward you with His choicest blessings!
Given in the Chancery in Fairview, Quezon City, this 5th day of November,
in the Year of Our Lord, 2009.
