We edit materials for Academics and authors at various levels, who are
writing projects, novels, research findings, journal papers, and all business
executives who need to do write ups or make official presentations or
speeches to various publics.

In addition, our print/publishing arm can produce your books, if you choose
us. We have experienced publishing staff with the capacity to produce books
to international standard. In February 2015, Richgrip acquired two printing
machines, paper folding machine and a state-of-the-art Hot Binder for

Our Editing Style: By default, Richgrip editors adopt the APA standard
writing style but we can also work with other standard styles like Chicago,
CSE, or MLA.

Often, our editing is on per-page basis,

DURATION OF EDITING SERVICES: Duration for Text Editing projects

range from three hours to fifteen days, depending on the
volume,budget and nature of the manuscript.
HOW WE ACCEPT MANUCRIPT:

1. ONSCREEN EDITING: Writer and Clients may send in their manuscripts

as email attachments to: richgrippublishers@gmail.com, or physically,

in soft copy through CD, DVD, Flash drive or Micro SD Card. All changes
are Microsoft WORD based and tracked in red for easy identification,
including the re-writes and comments. Under the REVIEW icon, our
clients may accept, change or reject each correction. Changes are
easily reversible.
2. HARD COPY SUBMISSION: We also accept Type-printed manuscripts on
Letter or A4 papers, physically delivered to any of our offices.

Manuscript Editing, like other professional services, varies in intensity from

plain proofreading to heavy developmental editing.
When you submit your manuscript, our editors conduct a realistic assessment
of the write-up to ascertain if you need copyediting, Comprehensive Line
Editing or intense developmental editing. Sometimes, we do a sample edit
of a few pages to back-up our assessment. Then, we kindly but candidly tell
you our findings. You shall also be sent a pro forma invoice based on the type
of editing service(s) we recommend.

DEGREES OF EDITING SERVICES

a.)Proofreading is simply the reading of a type-printed proof or an electronic
copy of a publication to detect and correct production errors of the text.
Proofreaders are expected to be consistently accurate since they handle the
last stage of typographic check in print production before final publication.
b.)Copy Editing: Copyediting ensures that text is correct in terms of
grammar, jargon,punctuation, terminology, semantics and formatting.
The Copy editor, to some extent, also ensures that the theme the writer
wishes to x-ray is clear and easy to understand.
c.)Comprehensive Line-by-line Editing: Involving line-by-line review of the
manuscript- checking sentence flow, paragraph structures, degree of clarity
{semantics), lapses like redundancies, word choice, tenses, punctuations,
weak, inappropriate or overused words, etc. Above all, under comprehensive
line editing contract, we sometimes search up the basic, general and current
developments surrounding the subject matter (because a good editor should
know a bit about every subject) and make a few editorial suggestions where
necessary. He should possess an eye for details, critical thinking skills and the
ability to identify both language errors and inconsistencies in the work.
d.)Intense Developmental Editing: may involve extensive fact-checking,
clarifying or reorganizing a manuscript for content and structure, clarifying
meaning, eliminating jargons, redundant words and phrases. Developmental
editing may include some rewriting and reorganization of text.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: We notify you as soon as we are through with your
work via: phone call, short message service (sms) or email.
EDITING FEES:

There are different methods to calculate editing fees. Some editors

prefer to charge by the hour. Others offer a flat rate that depends on word
count, regardless of how many hours will go into editing the manuscript.
Richgrip Editing adopts flat rate per-page billing.
Advantage of a flat rate:

Both the writer and the editor know beforehand how much the editing
will cost. With an hourly rate, the total costs wont be determined until
the editing is finished.
Some writers fear the editor will stretch the editing to have more
billable hours

Disadvantage of a flat rate:

Sometimes it can be difficult to estimate how much work is involved in

editing a manuscript before you actually start working on it. If the
editor underestimates the extent of the job, he or she ends up working
for a very low hourly rate.
