that needs to be taken away, so 40 4 = 36, so 9 x 4 = 36

We have begun our unit on Multiplication. As we know a huge focus of Grade 3 is


learning multiplication facts. Many parents wonder how they can help their
children at home to master these facts. Many of us learned our facts through
daily practice with flash cards, but our classroom is all about developing a deep
understanding of mathematical concepts not just relying on rote memorization.
If you would like to help your child at home with learning these facts, here is a
multiplication newsletter containing strategies students will be learning in class
to that you can help support from home.
