Set Up and Implement Discoverer End User Layer 4i (EUL)

1. Start the Apache & Discoverer Services

[IAS HOME]/Apache/Apache/bin/apachectl start
[IAS HOME]/806/discwb4/util/startall.sh.
Also run startgatekeeper.sh (if it is not included in startall.sh).
Make sure Discoverer Launcher & viewer page is coming up fine.

2.Install Discoverer 4i Administration edition in a desktop.

3. Apply latest discoverer admin edition patch 3206101 in the desktop where discoverer
admin edition is installed.
4. Apply the patch 3451630,3622870 on the desktop where discoverer administration
edition is installed.
5.Download the MKS tool kit software & install on the same desktop where discoverer
administration edition is installed.
6. Stop Apache & Discoverer services.
[IAS_ORACLE_HOME]/Apache/Apache/bin/apachectl start
[ORACLE_HOME]/discwb4/util/stopall.sh.
Run the below commands & make sure everything is stopped.
ps ef | grep disco.
ps ef | grep osagent.
Ps ef | grep oad
7. Update pref.txt at [IAS HOME]/806/discwb4/util
a) Append the pref.txt with the values in DeltaPref.txt
b) Collect the new variable & values from New_pref.txt and update
pref.txt
c) DefaultUserTypeIsApps = 1
d) ShowUserTypeChoice

=1

e) Remove the entry DisableAutoOuterJoinsOnFilters from pref.txt

f) Update the pref.txt with IP address of the host
8. Apply the updated pref.txt from <ORACLE_806_HOME>/discwb4/util/

$./applypreferences.sh

Check the file error.txt and make sure there are no errors.
9. Restart the services
[IAS_ORACLE_HOME]/Apache/Apache/bin/apachectl stop
[ORACLE_HOME]/discwb4/util/stopall.sh
[IAS_ORACLE_HOME]/Apache/Apache/bin/apachectl start
[ORACLE_HOME]/discwb4/util/startall.sh
10. Create Tablespace for new 4i EUL End User Layer
create tablespace DISCOVERER datafile '<mount>/discoverer01.dbf' size
1024M reuse extent management local uniform size 128K;
11. Create new Discoverer 4i End User Layer, this creation process to be done
from windows pc thru Discoverer Administration Edition
Before creating 4i EUL,
a) Install Discoverer Administration Edition
b) MKS tool kit in a windows desktop
From the desktop execute the following
Z:\>C:\orant\DISCVR4\DIS4ADM.EXE
/CREATE_EUL
/APPS_MODE
/CONNECT system/<password>@<sid>
/USER EUL4_US
/PASSWORD eul4pw
/DEFAULT_TABLESPACE discoverer
/TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE temp
/SET_EUL_LANGUAGE US
/APPS_GRANT_DETAILS apps/<password>
/SHOW_PROGRESS

The above screen shows the completion of 4i EUL creation

12. Set the following profile options

ICX_DISCOVERER_RELEASE = 4
ICX_DISCOVERER_LAUNCHER = http://<HTTP
Server>:<Port>/discwb4/html/discolaunch.htm?Connect=[APPS_SECURE]
ICX_DISCOVERER_VIEWER_LAUNCHER = http://<HTTP
Server>:<Port>/discoverer4i/viewer/?Connect=[APPS_SECURE]
ICX_DISCOVERER_USE_VIEWER = Yes
ICX_DEFAULT_EUL = EUL4_US or EUL
ICX_DISCOVERER_EUL_LANGUAGE = US
ICX: Media directory = OA_MEDIA
ICX: HTML directory = OA_HTML
ICX: Default Flow Operand = is
Applications SSO Login Type = LOCAL (optional)
13. Apply the Patch 2921686 for the Business View Generator and restart the
services
14. Submit the request Generate All Business Views - thru Business view
setup responsibility. Make sure the request completes without any errors.
15. Recompile all objects in the APPS schema using adadmin
16. Ensure the BIS views exist and all BIS views are valid by issuing the
following command in SQL*Plus:
select object_name from user_objects
where object_type = 'VIEW' and
status = 'INVALID' and
( object_name like '%FV_%' or object_name like '%FG_%' or
object_name like '%BV_%' or object_name like '%BG_%' );
17. From the windows desktop, connect to Discoverer Admin Edition as EUL
User and grant EUL Administration privileges to SYSADMIN/System
Administrator thru menu Tools -> Privileges
Note: - For all further End User Layer Administration activities you must use
the Oracle Applications User/Responsibility SYSADMIN/System Administrator.
This Applications user must import and own the Workbooks and Business
Areas of all future Discoverer 4i patches and share them as applicable with
other Applications users and responsibilities.

18. In order to import the additional discoverer reports.

a. Create a folder in windows desktop as c:\au_top
b. Download all the file from $AU_TOP/discoverer from the server
to the desktop where discoverer administration is installed.
c. From the windows desktop, thru MKS Tool kit,
Start -> Run -> CMD -> ksh (Now the cmd is enabled with ksh
env)
Now you could find few driver file & adupdeul.sh at c:\au_top\discoverer
From the ksh environment, execute the following
sh adupdeul.sh \
connect=sysadmin/<PASSWORD>@<SID> \
resp="System Administrator" \
gwyuid=APPLSYSPUB/PUB \
fndnam=APPS \
secgroup="Standard" \
topdir=c:/au_top/discover \
language=US \
eulprefix=EUL4 \
eultype=OLTP \
mode=complete \
exedir=c:/orant/discvr4 \
logfile= import_eul_us_test.log
After the import check the import_eul_us_test.log for status = 0.If there is any
error please resolve that before you proceed.
d. Refresh the Discoverer 4i End User Layer, by connecting to
C:\orant\DISCVR4\DIS4ADM.EXE /CONNECT "SYSADMIN:System
Administrator/<password>@<db>" /EUL EUL4_US
Then Open all Business Areas and select all, then from menu File -> Refresh.
Repeat the above steps c & d for other driver files if there are any updates
has been released and make sure the status of import is 0
19. Restart the Application services
20. Now register and reapply the preferences
[[ORACLE_HOME]/discwb4/util/startosagent.sh & startoad.sh
[[ORACLE_HOME]/discwb4/util/applypreferences.sh
[[ORACLE_HOME]/discwb4/util/registerall.sh
21. Now stop the services & start it again.
22. Restart the Application services

Now the both 4i Discoverer plus & Discoverer viewer are ready.
Discoverer Viewer: http://<HOST>:<PORT>/discoverer4i/viewer
Discoverer Launcher: http://<HOST>:<PORT>/discwb4/html/discolaunch.htm
Login to the above URL thru sysadmin login.
23. Grant EUL user privileges for required Application Responsibilites.
24. Logon to Discoverer Admin as EUL schema owner.
25. Start the Privileges dialog using Tools -> Privileges. Select the checkbox
User Edition and all privileges boxes under User Edition and grant those
privileges to the required responsibilities.
