STING GROUND CONDITION TO ACHIEVE THE ABOVE REQUIRED BEARING CAPACITY :
* REMOVE THE TOP SOIL AND DELETERIOUS MATERIALS AND EXCAVATE TO THE DESIGN L
EVEL ( UP TO BASALT OR TO THE LAYER WITH A SAFE BEARING CAPACITY OF 100 KPa)
* FILL UP TO THE LEVEL OF PROPOSED FOUNDATION USING APPROVED MATERIAL. FILLI
NG SHOULD BE DONE IN HORIZONTAL LAYERS NOT GREATER THAN 200 mm THICK AND UNIFORM
LY COMPACTED TO A MINIMUM DRY DENSITY RATIO OF 98%
7. ALL EXCAVATIONS SHALL BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY APA REPRESENTATIVE.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING ALL STRCUTRUES IN A STABL
E CONDITION DURING EXCAVATION AND ERECTION / CONSTRUCTION.
9. ALL COCNRETE WORKS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS3600
10. ALL CONCRETE SHALL BE STRENGTH GRADE N32 EXCEPT THE BLINDING LAYER WHICH IS

11. COVER TO REINFORCEMENT FOR COCNRETE WORKS SHALL BE 40 mm.
12. ALL REINFORCEMENT SHALL BE OF GRADE 500N CONFORM TO AS4671.
13. ALL STRUCTURAL STEEL WORKS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS4100.
14. STRUCTURAL STEEL SHALL CONFORM TO
* AS1163 GRADE C350 FOR HOLLOW SECTIONS
* AS 3678 FOR PLATES AND FLOOR PLATES
* AS 3679 GRADE 300 FOR UNIVERSAL BEAMS, UNIVERSAL COLUMNS , PARALLET FL
ANGE CHANNELS, ANGLES, FLATS AND BARS
* AS 1397 GRADE 450 FOR PURLINS AND GIRTS
15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPPLY AND INSTALL EARTH BONDS TO EACH CONTINUOUS PIECE
OF REINFORCEMENT AS PER APA TYPICAL EARTHING INSTALLATION STANDARDS. STEEL REIN
FORCEMENT MUST BE TACK WELDED TO BE CONSIDERED TO BE CONTINOUS. THE EARTH BONDIN
G CONNECTION POINTS SHALL BE AS CLOSE AS POISSIBLE TO CONTROL / ELECTRICAL EQUIP
MENT ROOM TO REDUCE EARTH CABLE LENGTH.
16. ALL HOLD DOWN (HD) BOLTS , NUTS AND WASHERS SHALL BE HOT DIP GALVANISED. LOC
K NUTS SHALL BE USED FOR HD BOLTS SECURING VIBRATING EQUIPMENTS.
17. ALL GALVANISED STEEL TO BE IN CONTACT WITH CONCRETE SHALL BE PASSIVATED.
18. SHOP WELDS SHALL BE 6 mm CONTINUOUS FILLET U.N.O. SITE WLEDS SHALL BE 8 mm
CONTINUOUS FILLET U.N.O.
19. UNLESS SHOWN OTHERSIDE ON DRAWINGS, MINIMUM CONNECTIONS SHALL BE 2-M20 8.8/S
BOLTS.
20. FIXED PLATFORMS , WALKWAYS AND STAIRWAYS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS1657.
