Philosophy of Education

It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest

potential in there learning environment by providing an environment that is
safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. There are three
elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment,
(1) the teacher acting as a guide, (2)student engagement and (3) promoting
respect for all things and all people.
In order for students to construct knowledge, they need the
opportunity to discover for themselves and practice skills in authentic
situations. Providing students access to hands-on activities and allowing
adequate time and space to use materials to explore the concepts from the
lesson being studied creates an opportunity for individual discovery and
construction of knowledge to occur and the teacher serves as guide or
facilitator.
Students need the opportunity to explore and create in a fun an
engaging way. Student engagement is very important in order to make the
learning meaningful and fun for the learner. As an educator we need to make
sure that student engagement is happening as much as possible.
Teachers should model and promote students to respect themselves,
others and their environment. Students need continuous practice modeling
these behaviors in the classroom. By setting rules and expectations and

providing a consistency with rule expectations. This will provide a

safe environment for children to be in and to respect others.

Philosophy of Leadership

What makes a great leader? A leader that is rational and natural. As a

leader we will need visions and goals, but never forget the natural side of
being understanding and being there for the people who come and work
their hearts out for you. It can be very easy to take for granted the people
that are loyal to you and forget about them when we tend to get so driven by
our visions and goals. We cannot accomplish those dreams and goals by
ourselves, it takes faithful, loyal, and hardworking personnel to accomplish
them. It is necessary to have soft skills with the people we work with.
Another great aspect of a leader is one that recognizes that he or she makes
mistakes and takes ownership of them and is quick to fixing and making the
necessary adjustments to fix them. As a leader it is our responsibility to
grow and help our staff find the potential that is inside of them. I believe
everyone has hidden talents that need to be discovered and many have
leadership skills that they are not aware off. When someone struggles, it is
our responsibility to provided them with the necessary professional
development or assistance to help them accomplish the desire goal for that
individual.

Vision for Learners

I believe every students should be given the best instructional possible by
their teachers. It is our responsibility to help our students become successful
learners. As an administrator it is our responsibility to make sure our
students are receiving the best education through high quality instruction
that follow the TEKS. Not only should every child receive high quality
instruction, but also have the opportunity to be engaged in their learning.
Every student should be able to create and apply their learning using
technology and other forms of methods that allows them to apply what they
have been learning using the high order Blooms taxonomy, creating and
applying.
Vision for Teachers
A teacher is someone who is passionate for children, loves to teach, and
enjoys making a difference in a childs life. A great teacher is a person who is
a hard worker, passionate and is constantly striving to improve the results of
childrens learning in order to help our students be successful. When we
strive to improve and make things better thats how we can better ourselves
and be better educators for our students.
Vision for the Organization
Serve and sacrifice for others in order to help them become great, others
meaning our students and teachers. Jon Gordon quoted, Great leaders
succeed when they bring out the best in others. I truly believe this is true,

teachers as leaders in their classrooms and administrators as leaders in a

school. Teacher serve and sacrifice to help their student become great and
an administrator should serve and sacrifice to help her teachers become
great.
Plan for vision attainment
In order to attain my vision, I believe in collaboration and working as a team
in order for all to succeed. I will work with a team of teachers that I will
empower in order to help execute and achieve the vision plan. Working
together to achieve what is best for our students.
