Manuscript Submittal Form and Checklist

Natural Resource Report - Natural Resource Data Series

Instructions
Step 1: The person submitting the manuscript for publication should oversee a preliminary round of peer review
editing and complete Section 1 of this document prior to sending a copy of the report and this form to the
designated NPS Peer Review Manager. More information about Peer Review Managers for new NRR or NRDS
reports can be found at: http://www.nature.nps.gov/publications/nrpm/PeerReviewManager.cfm.
Step 2: The NPS Peer Review Manager oversees a separate and official round of peer review editing, which must
include the review of NPS policy and management issues, before completing Section 2 of this document. By
completing and submitting this form the Peer Review Manager personally vouches for all document content, that
the document fully meets NRPM Peer Review Standards, and is ready for immediate and final publication.
Step 3: When the Peer Review Manager has completed Section 2, both this form and the final version of the
report should be sent to Fagan Johnson for final publication review and formatting. We accept .docx file formats
for documents generated using MS Word, and .pdf formats for documents generated using Adobe InDesign.
Step 4: The NRSS support office will complete Section 3 of this document, and will send the contributors further
instructions for uploading the final .pdf version of the report to the NPS Data Store (online digital library and
archival application).
Note: This completed form will be digitally archived by the NRSS support office. Archived forms are
available to NPS management and other U.S. Government oversight entities upon request.
