BEAUTIFULLY SMOOTH

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

PERFECT UNIFORMITY

Blazes architectural form factor creates a design feature in

its own right.

Blaze is designed for excellent uniformity of lighting together with a high lumen output.
The Blaze design outperforms inferior LED flat panel technology. This means that the quantity
of legacy fluorescent fittings can be substantially reduced in retrofit applications.

Unlike LED flat panels, Blaze has an indirect optical design

which places the LEDs discreetly behind a sleek curved
central column. This, together with an optimised diffusor,
creates a very smooth lighting effect with no glare and a
pleasing aesthetic.

INDIRECT OPTICS

EXCEPTIONALLY LOW GLARE

Blaze has an innovative optical system that achieves 99%

reflectivity and 97% diffused reflectance, creating a high
light output with very low glare. Minimal light is trapped
within the optical cavity making Blaze an industry leader in
terms of lumen per watt performance.

Glare reduction is key to success for ceiling tile lighting,

particularly in office and retail applications. Blaze has no
disturbing surface luminances and is optically designed
to minimise reflected and direct glare guaranteeing a high
level of visual comfort.

UNIFORMITY AND COLOUR

EVEN, FRESH LIGHTING

Blaze has a slightly asymmetric light distribution which

ensures very high uniformity of lighting. Nualight also
manufactures Blaze using tight LED colour binning
technology which achieves colour repeatability of less
than 3 SDCM, ensuring any visual colour tolerances are
undetectable.

This very even optical performance means that in

certain applications, Blaze can be applied in a way that
reduces fixture count by up to 30%. The high quality and
consistency of colour means that Blaze creates a fresh
ambience that is conducive to productivity in workplaces
and impactful displays in retail.

CURVED FORM FACTOR

SLEEK AESTHETIC

Blaze has been designed with an attractive curved central

column with a winged diffusor in a lacquered frame.

Blaze creates an architectural design feature in its own

right, creating a visually attractive ceiling vista.

EASY & GENTLE DIMMING

For applications where DALI is not feasible, perhaps due to cost or unnecessary
functionality, the Wave box makes it very easy and cost-effective to incorporate a simple,
user-friendly dimming system. Using the Blaze 1-10v model, 8 fixtures are connected
directly to the Wave box with a simple plug & play connection together with standard
sensors. There is no complicated programming.

FULL DALI CONTROL

Even without smart controls,

replacing fluorescent with Blaze will
typically yield energy savings of 60%
depending on the application.

Simple on-off controls, with the option

of easy dimming with Wave (see
opposite), will typically deliver up to
70% energy savings in situations
where a full DALI system is neither
feasible nor necessary.

Blaze offers DALI control as an option,

bringing unlimited possibilities in terms
of precision zonal control.

With DALI, energy savings up to 90%

can be achieved, however there is
also a significantly enhanced user
experience factor.
Without any controls, all lighting
installations are overlit at the start to
compensate for natural and expected
degradations over the lifetime of the
system (e.g. 70% at 50,000 hours).
With DALI, this redundant light is
eliminated from the very start of the
project. This, along with dimming,
dramatically reduces the energy
footprint over the lighting system
lifetime.
Perhaps just as importantly, DALI
enables users to fine-tune light levels
across different zones to suit specific
preferences.
Smart control is the future of lighting
and the selection of DALI now is a
future-proofed investment.

When deployed correctly, it is virtually

TAILORED LIGHTING
Digital Addressable Lighting Interface, or DALI, is a worldwide standard enabling the
allocation of a digital address to every LED fixture. It facilitates digital lighting, with every
fixture individually and remotely controllable.
DALI-enabled LED will increasingly give competitive advantage. It will become much
more than lighting. Connected digital components will be able to respond to changing
conditions, gathering data, reporting conditions and driving intelligent responses across
a range of connected technologies. Considering DALI today will enable future-proofed
Smarter Lighting tomorrow.

MEETING THE CHALLENGE

SAFE TO WORK, PLEASANT
FOR RECOVERY
Hospitals, medical centres and care homes are demanding
applications when it comes to lighting. Administrative and
clinical areas must be lit to high levels of uniformity and
colour rendering while patient recovery areas must be
pleasant and conducive to recovery.
The softer indirect optics of Blaze remove all disturbing
glare, creating a calmer ambience which is still evenly and
brightly lit. A choice of colour temperatures (fresh white and

SIZES

COLOUR TEMPERATURES
Blaze is available in a choice of warm white (2900K) or natural white (4000K) depending
on the desired ambience. 2.5 SDCM ensures perfect colour consistency with no risk of
patchwork colour temperatures in a single installation.

The Blaze series includes two sizes:

1200mm x 300mm and 600mm x
600mm. Size variants for the German
market are also available on request.

EMERGENCY LIGHT OPTION

2900K

Blaze can be optionally installed with an integrated emergency

lighting. function with a battery back-up of 3 hours. This means
that extra wiring and lighting systems to indicate the emergency
route are no longer necessary. Every luminaire operates
autonomously. The Blaze is equipped with a seperate string of
LEDs that lights up when the power fails.

RECESSED OR SURFACE MOUNTED?

4000K

Blaze is a recessed fixture as standard but can be supplied in a surfacemount box if required.

23

RAPID INSTALLATION

RELIABILITY & PERFORMANCE

EUROPEAN DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE

Nualight has R&D facilities and manufacturing in Europe. Our LED drivers and luminaires
undergo stringent testing. Performance is measured throughout the lifetime of fixtures, with
focus on efficiency, power, harmonics and inrush current.

FIVE YEAR WARRANTY

Each Blaze is backed by a 5-year warranty on the entire fixture: the LEDs, the optics and the
control gear. Titan only features components that are precisely measured and selected, so
users know the fixture will deliver long-term reliable performance.

As the parent company of Lumotech, Nualight benefits from added

expertise in drivers, bringing an extra dimension to its controls knowhow. Lumotech has 35 years of experience in specialist LED controls,
sensor technology and control gear.

We make life a lot easier by making Wieland the standard connection system
for Blaze. Other lighting manufacturers offer Wieland optionally at an additional
cost. We offer the true definition of plug and play. Retrofits can therefore be
realized at a lightning pace!

LOW INRUSH CURRENT

Blazes Lumotech driver keeps inrush current very low. When fluorescent lighting switches on,
an instant peak in current causes a spike in energy consumption and can trip circuit breakers.
Low to zero inrush current with Blaze LED allows many more fixtures to be installed on each
circuit breaker, so it is not necessary to make any changes to the electrical system.
