HP Notifies European Works Council of

Proposed Business Transformation Actions in
EMEA

Zurich, Switzerland, May 28, 2009 - HP today confirmed that it has

submitted a proposed restructuring plan for its Europe, Middle East and
Africa (EMEA) region to its European Works Council (EWC). The plan
provides details on the regional impact of the company's ongoing global
business transformation. Under the proposal, the company’s planned
workforce reduction in EMEA will affect up to approximately 5700
positions over the next two years. On April 30, 2009, HP (including EDS)
had approximately 80,000 employees in EMEA.

The break-down of affected positions in businesses and functions on

country level will be evaluated during the coming weeks. In addition, as
part of HP’s ongoing efforts to optimize the company’s operations and
cost structure, as well as to drive increased value for customers, HP has
presented a plan to relocate its EMEA Enterprise, Storage and Servers
(ESS) production from Germany and Scotland to a partner company in
the Czech Republic during 2010.
