DETERMINATION OF EVAPOTRANSPIRATION
PROCESS
1. Look for a pot with plants in it

2. Weight the pot with plant (initial weight)

3. Fill the pot with water until the soil becomes saturated

4. Then weight it and record the data.

Data:
Initial weight = 2.6 kilograms
Weight of plant fill with water = 3.3 kilograms
Weight of water = 3.3 2.6 = 0.7 kilograms
Computation:
1st day
Total weight of water = 0.7 kilograms
2nd day
Weight of plant = 2.9 kilograms
Weight of water evaporated = 3.3 2.9 = 0.4 kilograms
Add water---0.7 kilograms
New weight of plant = 2.9 + 0.7 = 3.6 kilograms
3rd day
Weight of plant = 3.0 kilograms
Weight of water evaporated = 3.6 3.0 = 0.6 kilograms
Add water---0.7 kilograms
New weight of plant = 3.0 + 0.7 = 3.7 kilograms
4th day
Weight of plant = 3.3 kilograms
Weight of water evaporated = 3.7 3.3 = 0.4 kilograms
Add water---0.7 kilograms
New weight of plant = 3.3 + 0.7 = 4.0 kilograms
3rd day
Weight of plant = 3.2 kilograms
Weight of water evaporated = 4.0 3.2 = 0.8 kilograms
Average water evaporated = 0.4 + 0.6 + 0.4 + 0.8 = 0.55 kls
4
Percent of evaporation = (0.55/0.7) *100 = 38.5 %
