Indian Removal Packet
This document is about the United States that wanted the Cherokees to be moved to lands
west of the Mississippi River. The States also said that the land belong to them anyway and if
the Natives extinct, the land will revert to the States. The States forcibly removed the
Natives Indians because the President thinks that it would be beneficial for the United States,
individual States, and to the Indians themselves, but the Natives think the other way around.
Even though the States will provide security and take care of them, the Natives Indians still
feel that it is not the right thing for them to be treated that way. It is their homeland and they
are not supposed to leave it. Also, the soldiers who were in charge in removing them also
treat them very brutal and cruel. They took away the Natives homes and everything they
have. They suffered a lot because of the removal act. Overall, this document is about the
Cherokees Indians that were being removed by the States from their homeland to other land.
David Walkers Appeal
Appeal is a document written by David Walker, which is mainly about equality, that All men
are created equal. The document is about his observations and how he felt towards it. He
said that colored people (including himself) were those who were treated disrespectfully. He
is hoping that nobody will be treated like that ever again. He shares his thoughts about how
bad slavery at that time, how slavery has treated the colored people very badly and cruel, and
how brutal and merciful they have been treated them. He also rejects Mr. Jefferson that says

about whites are more superior that colored people. He believes that we should not compare
one another because all people are excellent in their own way and should not treat them
brutally. Moreover, Walker stated that, America is more our country, that it is the whites-we
have enriched it with our blood and tears, shows that not only the whites belong in the
States, but all colored people also belong there to enjoy freedom. Walker really stands up to
speak for all the slaves in America to be brave dealing with Americans. Overall, Walker
speaks out about equality and discrimination should be stopped in the midst of us.
The Confessions of Nat Turner
This document is about Nat Turners confession about the murder cases he had done with his
fellow me. Several questions were asked by the state Deputy for him. It is about the journey
of Turners revenge. Tuner said he has been living with his master, Joseph Travis. One night,
he and his men were already armed and equipped themselves and ready to murdered the
family. They then began to murder all the family in the neighborhood. Turner got a lot of men
that joined him in his revenge journey. As soon as the whites alarmed by his actions, they
showed up and surround Turner and his gang, and because of that, Turner lost most of his
men. He lost everyone and he went by himself because he trusted no one. He then decided to
live alone in his hiding place until two Negroes and a dog found him. He was afraid that they
would betrayed him, so he left until Mr. Benjamin Phillips found him and he put Turner to
prison. Furthermore, the document is about Turners journey of getting revenge to the whites
for treating him and his fellow blacks badly.
The Liberator by William Llyod Garrison
The Liberator is the very first issue of William Lloyd Garrisons newspaper about antislavery. It was published in Washington City. Garrison is a person who believes that all slaves
should be free and having the rights to enjoy the Liberty. He wanted to promote emancipation

in the birthplace of liberty because he believes that all men are created equal and all should
be treated the same way regardless their race. He vigorously fights to release liberation
among the slaves and fights for the rights of all African Americans. In his first publication, he
stated, I am in earnest-- I will not equivocate-- I will not excuse--I will not retreat a single
inch--AND I WILL BE HEARD. The writer was very serious about the concept of
emancipation and everyone successfully heard his voice of equality for the Blacks. In the end
of the article, the writer wrote such a poem that says about cruelty that runs in the States that
treated the Africans so badly and that he is willing to fight for freedom no matter what
happened. The purpose from this article is that the writer wants to inform the public that antislavery should be erased in the land of Liberty and he wants to promote the anti-slavery
movement.
