Know all men by these Presents that we Nathaniel B Hathaway and Chloe Hathaway his wife of the County of Oakland and Territory of Michigan in consideration of fifty dollars good and ample money of the United States to us paid by Chester Webster of the county and Territory aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain and sell unto the said Chester Webster his heirs and assigns a certain parcel of land situate in the town of Pontiac and county and Territory aforesaid bounded and described as follows to wit Beginning at the center post of section numbered fourteen in township three North of Range ten East in the district of Detroit in the Territory of Michigan and running thence South one degree West five chains and twenty one links and twenty one tenths of a link to a post thence North Eighty seven degrees west twenty one chains and ten links to a post thence North one degree East five chains and twenty one links and four tenths of a link to a post thence south Eighty seven degrees East twenty one chains and ten links to the place of beginning containing Eleven acres together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances hereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold this the above granted and bargained premises to the said Chester Webster his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use and benefit forever And we the said Nathaniel B Hathaway and Chloe his wife for ourselves our heirs executors and admin[istrators] do covenant with the said Chester Webster his heirs and assigns that we are lawfully seized in fee of the aforgranted premises that they are free from all incumbrances that we have good right to sell and convey the same to the said Chester Webster as aforesaid and that we will and our heirs executors and administrators shall warrant and defend the same to the said Chester Webster his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this first [day] of January the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty nine In presence of } Malon Hubbell } Hannah Turner } Nathaniel B. Be it remembered that on the first day of January AD 1829 there personly [sic] appeared the within named persons before me whom to me are well known and acknowledged that they executed the within deed for the uses and purposes therein contained and the said Chloe being by me examined seperate [sic] and apart from her said husband acknowledged that she executed the same fully and voluntarily without any fear or compulsion from her said husband or any other person before me J Reeves Justice of the Peace Received for Recording March 5 AD 1831 at 3 oclock P.M Thomas J Drake Register O.C.M.T.
